Recommend a movie for when you need a good cry

Sorry, don't understand the concept of "needing a good cry". Nothing I have ever sought. Always thought if a story makes me cry, it's just a more accurate reflection of life. Some iof life is sad

You people really go looking for a good cry???

My kids freaking love this movie and I have to walk away every time Mufasa dies because when the little Simba goes up to him and pushes on his and says "Daddy?" and then lays down under his limp leg I lose it!

Open the flood gates! That part still gets me every time!

Yes, it helps me a lot during my period to release all the feelings at once. It happened more often in my 20s/late teens. I was able to release all my emotions. Leveled my hormones? I dunno.

Steel Magnolias. When Shelby dies, I lose it. Then when the mom breaks down at the funeral.

The Good Dinosaur. Both my parents and my husband lost a parent at a young age. Watching the dinosaur and the little boy explain to each other that they had lost family was heart breaking. I feel like such a weirdo talking about this movie to people because I'm an adult and I love it so much! The music, story and animation are excellent.

The first movie that came to mind when I saw the thread title was Marley and Me. We have a highly energetic large breed dog and when it's been particularly trying, I tell my husband "we need to love our dog again" and so we watch Marley and Me and sob.

Also, Atonement is pretty devastating. Amazing book as well.

If you’ve never seen it, Titanic can be a tear jerker.

My Girl

I also recently watched a movie about an orange grower caught in a conflict between Estonia and Russia (I think). He takes in wounded soldiers from opposing sides. Great story and I cried hard on that one.

Its a Wonderful Life

A lot of these have already been mentioned but I’ll put my vote in as well for Light Between oceans, stepmom, notebook, walk to remember, my sisters keeper, my girl. Maybe I’m just a cry baby. I think it depends on what makes her sad, to me anything with kids usually gets me going.
