+1000 they did this to themselves. full stop. |
| Did what to themselves? This is a power move. I will hate on BSC all day but objectively speaking they may have just poached two of Unions best coaches and NM is super connected with colleges. With the talent already there and the talent that NM will poach from Union, they could have some special teams POTENTIALLY... though they will find some way to F it up I'm sure |
NM is not going to BSC though.... |
| So they had an international who couldn’t come, then coaches from Union who apparently backed out, and a new coach from Armour who was let go from there and seems to be a not great coach. What’s not to love, for 4k per year? |
|
|
They backed out? That was quick.
Agreed an Armour coach that has less winning teams than not is not a step up for success |
So now NM is credited with College connections rather than CW? I think you need to re-evaluate. Union players are already committed next year knowing that NM was not going to be the coach. It would help bring in talent from MD and GA clubs however. We’ll see. |
Sure, if parents continue to believe that their daughters’ recruiting prospects are so important that it’s worth them being screamed at and sworn at and had water bottles thrown at week after week under the guise that this is preparing them for what college coaches are like. More and more parents are opening their eyes and realizing just how far things have gone away from this being a game and an outlet to promote good mental and physical health, not destroy it. |
Has CW even coached an older team in like the last ten years? |
That's what BSC is already like. People clearly are ok with it. |
| Boom? |
CW is still the head POC for recruitment at Union and he works very hard to get the players to college. While he doesn’t do as much with having teams anymore, he still helps with practices and is a big part of Union. NM is a good coach but dabbles in many different parts of soccer and also has his own Futsal Club. Extra points for your child if you are lucky enough to get private training with him. |

No one should be basing their opinion of teams, coaches and clubs from the garbage on this 'anonymous' forum. Take your DD to practice with the team of interest, go see the team at a couple of games and form your own opinion. People come here to hate and that's all you'll get.
Tryouts are really only relevant for the youngest players. For the older, you and your player should be speaking with the coach and doing your research well before tryout time. |
| My daughter left GFR when NM came in. He was awful, played his favorites and wanted extra $$$ for constant training add ons…go away NM how many clubs have you worked out in the past 10 years…if it’s more than 3…dude might be the problem…just saying |
This is absolute BS. NM doesn't do private training except in RARE situations. What age group was he coaching where he played his favorites and was charging for add ons for constant training? This sounds completely made up and is the complete opposite of everything I've ever witnessed from NM. |
