Tryout season in MD is just beginning. Options: Baltimore teams, PPA, Potomac, MD United, DCSC… any missing?

I know a few already have offers from VA clubs and were given the opportunity to wait to commit…I guess other families could tryout at MD United, Pipeline or GA Clubs? Crazy thing is NM was the backup plan. Bethesda hired some coach from Barcelona that wasn’t able to get his Visa (Thanks Trump!) first. KL/SC and someone else will probably split the duties is my guess but who knows. No idea how the GFR thing will play out.

Can someone explain the relationship between GFR and the fact that BSC has not yet released the slate for the older girls?

They were given offers but did not have to commit at the same time as VA players because MD and VA have different tryout dates.

The VA vs. MD tryout dates is also and has always been a problem. I never have figured out why VA is the exception when most other states cannot hold ECNL tryouts til May.

A ha..."the other side"...I hear it's lovely over there. Let me guess...you yanked your daughter out of club and then she played for the best club ever and now starts at Duke.

We were on the way out. My daughter wasn't one of the girls who was routinely being verbally abused but she was tired of dealing with all of that. Went to another team, dominated the conference, great family atmosphere, no yelling, and awesome coach. Daughter played well and had numerous D1 offers. Committed to a great school.

Was the first slate that Bethesda released yesterday a mistake or did they have coaches back out that quickly? Will we see the older teams today?

There is clearly an issue on the older girls side and I can’t blame BSC for this as it sounds like they have external factors not in their control. But as the girls get older, the team makeup and coaches get more and more important. There is a ton of rumored churn and turnover and it is ridiculously stressful for kids who put all their extra time into soccer. So not a troll, yes website access which is public anyway, and yes pretty cranky about this.

+1 except I fully DO blame BSC for the problems with the older girls. If they had coaches who cared and knew how to work with those age groups instead of being verbally abusive bullies, there would be less turnover.
