What does it mean to be a "classic" beauty?

+1

"Classic beauty" in the western sense means women who have that specific look that is most common among white women.

As I said previously, other cultures have their own standards of a "classically beautiful face."

You can't judge Indian, Asian or African bone structure by white beauty standards.

I don't know what thread you are reading but other PPs and I have named:

Iman
Aishwarya Rai
Halle Barry
Lupita Nyong'o
Kerry Washington
Gal Gadot

I think I even cited Nefertiti.

None of whom are the white beauty standard.

All of whom are classic beauties.

Apart from Lupita, I am reading the same thread as you. Plus what is Gal Gadot doing on your list of African or partially African women? She is as white as it gets. Halle Berry has extremely white features, you are clearly clueless about African, Asian and other ethnicity and their beauty standards, classical or just cute. Aishwara Rai? Really? You found the whitest feature looking Indian woman to prove your point? Nefertiti, historians and archaeologists speculate was of North East African heritage, which has facial features similar to white ethnicity. Look up Ethiopian women.

so your problem is not that women listed are white but that they have "white features"? first of all features are not necessarily white (more women in Ethiopia have high cheek bones than in any white country), they just happen to be what everyone everywhere likes. imam is gorgeous not only by white standards but also by "black"' and "Asian" standards. you can stamp your feet all day long but you wil never make fat ass Serena Williams or some such "a classical beauty".

that's not necessarily what everyone everywhere likes. please stop speaking for all of humanity.

by all means keep telling yourself that you are beautiful but there is a lot of research on this, sorry!

but you've failed to cite to none of it.

actually I told you title of the science book ("the survival of the prettiest") that has evea chapters on this. it's a bit dated but a good start for someone who knows nothing (you). there you have hundreds of references and you can look at recent articles citing those references if you want your knowledge to be current.

You sound extremely ignorant. Go back to your trailer park.

+ 10 million. Hands down, the most beautiful woman of our time.

Yikes. No, no, no. 1 million times no.

Haven't read the thread but in the western world, classic beauty refers to proportional features, with the nose leaning to the smaller side and lips leaning more full, but definitely not super voluptuous.

I'm Indian, and classic beauty there is equivalent to medium-sized almond eyes, straight thin nose, and full lips. The eyes are the most important feature. Hair should be long, super black and lustrous.

How are non white women supposed to feel??

All hair non classic beauty!

I am a non-white woman, and I feel just fine. I am beautiful, but not a classic beauty. So what? Who cares? Why are you bothered?

Also a non white non classic beauty here.

Not bothered by this thread either.

This thread was started about a specific kind of beauty.

Unlike the other man thread, it is about one kind of beauty, not all kinds of beauty.

All of the women posted or mentioned on this thread are beautiful I. Different ways, but not all of them fit the specific definition of a classic beauty as typically used in the USA.

It does not mean they are not beautiful. It just means this is a thread about a specific beauty, classic beauty, not a thread about all beautiful women.

Just catching up. Has anyone mentioned Maureen O’Hara?

Yes. Early on.

I think Michelle Obama has a beautiful classic inner beauty indeed, but externally she is simply a little above average in looks only.

The Asian girl, Jamie Chung is pretty but the Asian model shown in the previous picture is more of a classic beauty-type.

Kendall Jenner is a classic beauty out of all the Kar/Jenners, don’t you all think so?
She is 100% natural to me.

Kim has fake lips, tan + boobs.
Kloe has fake hair, tan, lips + boobs.
Kourtney has the fake boob thing going on.
And Kylie has the works:
Fake lips, nose, boobs + nails.

But Kendall has natural, in enhanced facial features + no breast implants.

But if no one agrees that she is a classic beauty how about GiGi Hadid?
Estée Lauder?
CoCo Chanel?
Hedy Lamar?
Bella Hadid?
Betty Grable?
Melania Trump?

Does Selma Hayek qualify? Or is she too sexy?

For someone who doesn’t sing, act or do anything else talented, she sure is our Queen of pop culture now.

Plus many people claim to dislike her.

But I have never heard a soul state that she is not pretty.

She has been body shamed a lot, but she does have the birthright of beauty.

I'm not hating, but that girls' face has been pushed, pulled, injected and sliced- so calling it birthrite is interesting. She has always had very very nice eyes and high cheek bones for sure which made her pretty. The, um, additional help has made her face very beautiful.

I think the "additional help" made her look like a clown.

Her old face was much better; she was at least cute then.

She looks like a freak now.

Its hard to tell. Because there is that west coast segment that loves the very sculpted make up so that adds to the mask look. I bet with medium coverage foundation, mascara, blush and lip stain she looks stunning and natural. Her nose is starting to look a bit too "done" but other than that I think she was pretty conservative with it so far. But then your eyes adjust to the new normal and you go looking to do something else, which is how they all look so odd on the real housewives, etc

Agree. There's no one who comes close. Except Audrey Hepburn, the other most beautiful woman of our time.

Too voluptuous and sexy. I’d rather look like her though.

Wasp beauty has always been termed “classic”.

To me only Grace Kelly best resembles a classic beauty, delicate bone structure, beautiful skin, looks like an angel
