What’s so great about Duke?

After all what is really known to have that is really unique? Don’t get this poster wrong the students are well prepared but there isn’t one particular degree that’s its known for (undergrad only am I referring as graduate is a whole different story).

Just a good all around. Solid. Nothing wrong with that. Lesser pressure than the very top tier. You could really enjoy the college experience at Duke, and build relationships for your future.

Duke is not worse than Brown or Dartmouth. Penn and Columbia have overall quite stronger departments though. In my experience east coast prep and boarding school kids tend to prefer Columbia, Penn, Brown and Dartmouth over Duke. Not true for Cornell though.

Gee, what a valuable insight.

Bio-mechanical engineering.

Biomedical engineering.

I selected Duke because I wanted a highly ranked university that had a variety of decent programs in case I decided that engineering wasn't for me and was in a nice climate.

The campus was beautiful, the education was solid and the weather was amazing.

Just facts. Just cause you don't like the facts doesn't make it less valuable.

Actually, your post is just your opinion.

There are no facts in your post. Just subjective opinions.

I'll throw this in as my subjective opinion but one that is based on attending two Ivies (undergrad and grad) and that is it's utterly and completely meaningless to undergrads whether such a department is ranked #5 or #15. Both are still excellent departments.

You obviously don’t know what a fact is. Your post is a collection of opinions which are worthless in the context of an anonymous message board. And here’s some free advice...work on your grammar and diction because your writing is dreadful which in turn erodes your credibility.

Oh, Lord, the "stronger departments" poster is here again. Whenever you read that strange turn of phrase, prepares to hear more about how great Penn is and how terrible Brown is.

You sound butthurt, hence the personal attacks. Everything above is an unassailable fact. Go ahead and challenge any of them. Oh wait you would have done so already if you could instead of resorting to ad hominem attacks...

NP here. It’s the “butthurt” imbecile again. This person crops up now and then on various topics to accuse people of being “butthurt.” This poster is a juvenile moron, and low class. Ignore this poster.

I think it's the same poster who has called me a dummie. I've also seen him call others dummie. I thought the same, he sounds like a moron, and probably has at least one of the many mental illness which are constantly brought up on this forum. He doesn't know when to stop. I never reply to him.
