Without proof, Trump has libeled and defamed Obama, possibly putting him in harm's way from one of his crazy followers seeking retribution. I'd love to see Obama take him to court over this fiasco.

But that does not mean he was unaware of surveillance activity by several of his departments, even through routine reports to the president, such as the Daily Intel Briefing or information conveyed to him or his staff via the Justice Department re the FBI counter-intelligence activities. As for Clapper, despite his past dissembling before Congress, he may not have been aware of what was taking place since the FBI counter-intel operation reportedly sought the warrant. The Daily Intel Briefing might provide useful information in that regard as well.

Of course, the release of the FISA applications would also shed a lot of light on events, assuming YOU believe reports that they were filed.

Furthermore, Clapper has said, as recently as yesterday, that no connections between the Russians and the Trump campaign have been found. I am extremely critical of Russia, Putin, and the efforts to influence our election, although I do not believe they succeeded. That said, how would Clapper know of no connections if he, as former Director of National Intelligence, didn’t look? On what is that based?

The direct accusation is offensive. If Obama stoops to his level, he will sue trumpf for defamation. That's what wealthy people do, sue everyone who mentions their name. If any tapping was involve, ask the secret operations guys.
Maybe they were tapping the Russian spies or some other questionable character.

Aside from the whole business of whether Trump tower was or wasn't tapped, and aside from if it was tapped, what reason there was, PP his going through incomprehensible mental gymnastics trying to somehow make importance of the word "ordered"

How does that work, a President making things happen without ordering it?

Trump said "Obama had my wires tapped" but PP wants us to believe if Obama did it, he somehow did it without ordering it.

Is Obama a telepathic X-Men mutant, and implanted the idea to tap Trump Tower in someone's mind?

Did he personally climb a telephone pole disguised as a Verizon guy?

Did Michelle climb the telephone pole and tap it for Barack out of undying love?

Did Obama pray and God did it for him? Oh, wait, he's supposed to be a Muslim and so the Secret Kenyan Allah swooped down from the heavens and did it?

How exactly is this whole thing supposed to have happened without being ordered, if it happened at all?

On the other hand, there has been smoke related to Trump and Russia for decades, and it intensified when Page and Manafort were both fired, so there was cause as IC was given information that tied campaign officials to the Russians.

Should there be no investigation whatsoever?
