Most of the attacks are coming from people born in the country. There is no opportunity to screen them at the borders.

Arm chair generals declaring enough is enough. Please enlighten how to prevent these horrors from occurring. You seem to think people much smarter than you run this country and they are supported by educated researchers and smart military leaders. These are complex issues and there is no simple solution. Its not like you see a problem, you take your gun and end the problem. Maybe you wish the world is that simple, but it is not.

A lot of the smart military and strategic advice you mention was not accepted over the past 8 years. I can't say where we would be, but I do know where we are.

Of all the things I am thankful for, being thankful that we are not directly engaged in a war in Syria is high on the list.

But some in fact are coming from people who infiltrate, so I dont doubt that stopping Paris or Istanbul would be an unworthy endeavor. It simply means do both - borders and address who is here ..bravo to the FBI for their work in Virginia this week What might they have stopped?

Oh, I'm sure the Americans fighting there now are glad you are thankful.

They allow them to become citizens and the care on France is amazing for citizens and non citizens even. That is still not enough to earn their allegiance to France. We better stop refugees from coming here or is will be next.

This article says refugees say terrorists are among them.

That is serious. How many peaceful citizens will be killed over the next generation? Because we are letting them into the west.

I take the refugee crisis very hard. There are so many. And once they are here they deserve nothing less than pure love. But we can't keep doing this. We need to support them within camps in their own country.

I think of the American Revolution. I know, it's very different. However, what would have happened if ghe colonists just left? Desitute and headed to Indiana or something. They need to be staying and fighting. They need support.

I was the one who posted about Muslims stating dividing line. Are you going to be peaceful or not? And how scary that is because it's a call for a huge fight

So is my above proposition that they need to stay there, with support.

It hurts to say it, but western help isn't going to weed out violence once and for all.

There is one common component, the religon.

Whether they are integrating or not doesn't give them the right to kill people. I am tired of tying to understand their reasons. France is pretty great in regards to taking care of people and residents. Free healthcare, free education, etx.... I know because I know non- French people living there receiving these amazing benefits. They should be grateful. Better than many other counties that don't offer these things.

These attacks have nothing to do with Israel.
And nothing to do with the west being intolerant. If anything, the west is too tolerant of everything and its confusing to them. Is the ideology they're turning t tolerant or rigid and doctrinaire?
The idea that these guys give two hoots about Palestinians is risible. They've sent whole cities of arabs into refugee camps.they've burned Jordanians (who are probably the only Arab country that significantly helps Palestinians) alive in cages.
And if these attacks are being carried out by immigrants, second generation immigrants, refugees, returnees, or infiltrators and/or converts how does weaning from middle east oil help?

The fuel that powers ISIS is a grievance against the west's continual involvement in the Muslim world. And this involvement is completely driven by the need for oil.

That is the CORE issue that the mass doesn't understand. It is like letting the Chinese Military in TX,OK and other Oil rich states for decades and let them suck out the oil while killing the local Americans, who eventually will protest the presence of foreign military presence. Not only that, imagine China also fought an unjust war and killed millions of Americans and made millions more homeless. You think American men in Taiwan or China or whichever asian country WON't do whatever to take down the chinese.

Get the heck out of the middle east. Develop renewable energy and reduce oil dependency and bring back the military from ANY foreign war that doesn't serve our interests.

What ISIS Really Wants
The Islamic State is no mere collection of psychopaths. It is a religious group with carefully considered beliefs, among them that it is a key agent of the coming apocalypse. Here’s what that means for its strategy—and for how to stop it.

from March 2015

The caliphate, Cerantonio told me, is not just a political entity but also a vehicle for salvation. Islamic State propaganda regularly reports the pledges of baya’a (allegiance) rolling in from jihadist groups across the Muslim world. Cerantonio quoted a Prophetic saying, that to die without pledging allegiance is to die jahil (ignorant) and therefore die a “death of disbelief.” Consider how Muslims (or, for that matter, Christians) imagine God deals with the souls of people who die without learning about the one true religion. They are neither obviously saved nor definitively condemned. Similarly, Cerantonio said, the Muslim who acknowledges one omnipotent god and prays, but who dies without pledging himself to a valid caliph and incurring the obligations of that oath, has failed to live a fully Islamic life. I pointed out that this means the vast majority of Muslims in history, and all who passed away between 1924 and 2014, died a death of disbelief. Cerantonio nodded gravely. “I would go so far as to say that Islam has been reestablished” by the caliphate.

True.

Eventually, our country and Europe will emerge from our denial phase. It's like a phase of grief. What comes after denial I will have to google. . .

It's great when those with intellectual disabilities get to express their opinions.

Not PP but fuck you. I don't care which side of the debate you're on. I have family who have mental disabilities. Don't exploit people with disabilities for a little cutesy put down.
