No, in Edgewood. Please don't buy into realtor hype by calling everything Brookland.

When this building was built about 100 years ago it was identified as Brookland. So while there may not be a consensus it's not realtor hype.

Plus even DC public records show it (as well as ITS address) as Brookland. I hate Brookland snobs.

And wasn't leadership academy aimed at problem kids?

I share these concerns. That's precisely why I avoided the Educational Campus models. I don't feel comfortable with my PKer with older kids even if they are separated. Wonder how that layout will be to ensure that there is no crossover between the two schools.

Your precious PKer will be fine, they won't be wandering alone in the hallways and they won't be harmed any more than they were with being in the same building as 8th graders in the ITS building. PS- your kid will not be 4 forever. One day, he will be 12 and people will look at him in fear, even more so if he's not white. Be the change that you want to see.

Congratulations, Lee! What great news, the location and facility are real coups for the school and the surrounding neighborhoods. I'm as far away as Bloomingdale (oh sorry - should I say Eckington? Technically Bloomingdale doesn't exist on city records. I understand there's a nitpicker on this thread and I would hate to ruffle her tender feathers).

I think Lee's appeal will only increase with this announcement. (No, not "boosting" - we're not a Lee family - but I'm pleased for those who are.)

Kudos and good luck!

Congratulations Lee. What a great site for a school!

I've been in the St. Paul's building recently. It is in good shape and I understand that there will be further renovations to customize the space for the two schools. Separate entrances, separate classrooms and hallways and separate administrative spaces. There are even separate outdoor courtyards. While these courtyards aren't large they are very nice. Sure, there will be traffic concerns but visit any school at entry and dismissal and you have the same problems. It's a great place for Lee.

Bloomingdale definitely exists! Look at the deed to your house. I bet it doesn't say Eckington!

Plenty of schools share space and there are no problems. LAMB shares a space with Perry St Prep, and I have never heard of any problems at all. I have confidence that Lee will do very well in such a lovely space.

Nope, incorrect. I live in Edgewood and don't like seeing its existence often erased.

How is that? Showing what is often confused in this site? Do you not want facts?

Regarding an unrelated, utter bullshit argument? No thanks.

Also the people arguing about the name of the neighborhood need a hobby too.

Picture poster here. Agreed. It's irritating when posters come on here and insist X isn't Brookland and Realtors are lying eye. It's clear that city records consider that area Brookland. No need to be a Brookland snob. They don't complain when they are at Catholic's Brookland Halloween fest
