So, you're a two-time loser? Ummm.... Congratulations?
|
Then you've been here long enough for a cup of coffee. Otherwise, you would know Word Salad. Actually, I kind of miss her. |
I live in a four-story brownstone in a... desirable neighborhood (you don't need to know which one, you can't afford it), and your bitterness does not become you.
|
Scammers gonna' scam. |
| Wow, can everybody stop quoting so long? How about just a segment? |
Then when I report you, and I will, you will have no problem proving that you aren't committing residency fraud, but merely picking up your spouse. If you aren't cheating, you're fine. Just saying. |
Word Salad is like Beetlejuice. You just need to criticize Eastern HS three times. |
You're failing to account for the 6% excise tax (based on fair market value) that must be paid to title a vehicle in DC. |
no one here calls them that. this isn't new york. |
NP. You don't pay excise tax for a car that was previously registered in another state. Only one that you buy new or used And registering in DC for first time. See #9 on exemption. http://dmv.dc.gov/sites/default/files/dc/sites/dmv/publication/attachments/Amended%20Excise%20tax%20exemption%20categories%20July%201%2C%202015.pdf |
| Just register your car. You live and drive here, do the honest thing. |
Not to mention the hassle of ROSA fines. I don't know a single non miltary resident in DC who can get away with out of state license plates for long |
| Neighbor has been doing it for years. Parks the car in the garage. MD plates. |
Not to mention that when people who live here don't register their cars here, they're effectively not included in the insurance pool. This means that your insurance rates go up because you're doing the honest thing and registering your vehicle in DC, because accidents, auto theft and damage are higher in the city, while others who are insured get to free ride with lower rates from somewhere else. |
