Kane from Kaneshow divorcing and crying on air right now (Part 3)

peter/kane has said before that the other co-hosts can do the show even if he's out for whatever reason..but to my knowledge, it has NEVER happened.

I never heard Kane say that (unless he was joking to try to be humble). I am pretty sure running the switch board, answering calls, playing music and sound effects, etc is pretty difficult. I think I remember once IJ kicked Kane in the balls or something and he got mad and had to take a breather and IJ tried to run the show and failed miserably. I think Kane is also responsible for coming up with most of the content and planning the layout, so if he woke up this morning feeling sick (this is assuming that's true), then I wouldn't think it would be that easy to just have IJ do it instead with a few hours notice.

I'd be willing to bet by June at the latest that Kane may be dunzo at iHeart.

In no other job field would this shit happen, they would have been fired right away for missing so much work. I still refuse to buy into the whole "technical problems" thing. iHeart is a fucking huge company, I don't think they'd let problems go on this long at one of their strongest stations in one of the largest markets in the US.

It was during one of their "ask us anything" segments a couple months ago. He said he's the one who puts the show "together" generally but that they can do it without him.

Well sure the probably can, but again, assuming Kane woke up with the stomach flu this morning, if no one has time to prepare to have someone else host the show, then they are just going to do reruns. Other than that weird week in December when Kane was in and out (seemingly not particularly with much notice), I can't remember the last time it was apparent that Kane was the only one not able to make the show and everyone else was AND they had a lot of obvious notice. Kane is relatively solid with attendance and doesn't seem to have planned absences other than the station-wide vacation time.

I am just saying... I wouldn't look too much into his absence today other than questioning if he REALLY is sick. If he really is, I don't think it is weird at all to do reruns.

Kane is the show! The other crew cannot handle the show without him. Today when IJ and Rose doing Hollywood dirt it was awful, they definitely don't have a good vibe between them. Very awkward. Kane is a great host no matter what anyone says. He may not be the best husband but he does his job well that's why he gets paid the big bucks. Danni needs to sit down and stopping throwing jabs about what's going on...it's getting old. Who cares if she leaves, the show will be better without her. Let TLC have her!!

The good thing is that with all the repeats, if you listen one time, you've actually listened to several days at once.

All I'm saying is that Peter said they could do the show without him. If they can't/won't for whatever reason (not able to handle all of it, not able to put it all together), then he shouldn't say they can.

Anonymous wrote:It is DEFINITELY a standoff between Danni and iHeart... Danni did something bad enough to get suspended but not bad enough to get justifiably fired (the kind that would result in them NOT having to pay out her contract). There is heat between them and iHeart is just hoping to piss her off enough to the point where she quits, which would also not result in a payout. So Danni is being stubborn and acting like she wants to come back (even though I think the bridges are burned) basically saying "I sure as hell am not quitting... if you want me to leave you have to pay me out". This honestly makes the most sense to me.

This is also a union issue. It's not a simple standoff between Danni and iHeart, or Danni and Kane.

No one said they can't, but if Kane planned the whole show last night and woke up sick, giving everyone 2 hrs notice, they aren't going to do the show without him. Say that Kane knows he is going to be out in 2 weeks for his daughters graduation or something, they have time to plan and might actually do the show without him. Stop assuming they can't handle it just because a reason for them to with proper notice has never happened.

Crazy how much has changed since then. Regardless of how you feel about the situation, it's pretty sad.
