A combination of genetics and diet. I'm naturally somewhat thin - meaning even if I don't watch why I eat, I'm not huge, my BMI will be on the high end of normal but not into overweight, etc.
When it comes to actually being thin, I don't do anything crazy. I limit soda, alcohol, fast food, fried food, and sweets. It isn't really torturous because I still eat plenty. Once I get out of the habit it's easier. I typically have a coffee in the morning and just drink water all day. |
| Er, not water in place of food. In place of soda or alcohol. |
Nope. Wishful thinking on your part. My blood tests indicate that I'm perfectly healthy. Btw your misinformed the idea that dietary cholesterol leads to High cholesterol has been pretty much debunked. |

It's true that outside of America, most people are thin and it's NOT due to lack of food like one poster up thread mentioned.
I lived in southern Europe, France and dubai where food is less processed (no microwave food) portions are smaller and people just move more often. My neighbor when I lived in Brooklyn immigrated from Ireland. She was beautiful, young and thin. Within 8 months the poor girl gained thirty pounds. She admitted that she stopped cooking and constantly ate out. Too accessible, fast food and restaurants are everywhere. I'm not thin but definitely on the smaller side (size 4/2) at 5'5. It's half lifestyle half genetics in my case. I graze throughout the day but eat small portions. Won't deprive myself either- if I want a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast or hot wings for lunch I eat it but will eat lighter the rest of the day. Those eating choices tend to only happen during a certain time of the month ..eek |
Thank you kate moss and no this just isn't true |
I'm insanely jealous of skinny women. I go out of my way to avoid them

| Until recently I did not own a car. Meaning I would get in a lot of walking just going about daily life. Also not drinking except on weekends. |

I'm 37 and can still fit into clothes from high school. Partly genetics but I can say for certain if my not so thin friends did this they could get thinner without much effort
-No soda at all. No diet soda either. No juice. Water, black coffee, sugarless tea, sparkling flavored waters. Maybe 4 ounces. I haven't had a soda in 4 years. -high protein breakfast, NO bagels no bread. Eggs and more eggs -cut the alcohol . save for weekends - limit processed foods, almost zero, eat heavy nicer restaurant food than a healthy choice TV dinner -drink at least 2 liters of water a day -eat high protein lunches, skimp on dinners -cut late snacking, if I get hungry I eat eggs -no sugar or candy. Seems like no brainer but people snack on candy without thinking twice Working out-eh, twice a week half hour, nothing hard. I find the lifestyle eating habits more effective |

I like this advice. What are your height/weight? Thank you! |
+1 every time we are posted overseas I lose weight, and every time we come back to the US, I gain. 5 countries, 3 US tours. |
Not at all. She is small and was a teenager when she came to the US. She was raised wealthy in her home country so it had nothing to do with lack of adequate food (organic food is plentiful there and 3x cheaper than here). |
This is exactly what I do I can't seem to drop a pound. |
The food in the US is much more addictive, plentiful, and richer in taste, fat, and sugar. I think we become addicted to fast easy convenient food. Even the healthy stuff seems not so natural. |
