| I think the story is horrible. I would like to know the genesis of the story from the RS reporter. Trying to understand why the victim would talk to RS, But not go to the police, where you can get justice. |

| I don't know if that person is from ^^ UMD , but I'm glad my kids go there. PSU, UVA, UNC and VT have had the biggest and most unbelievable crapshows that I have ever heard of at any college in the entire United States . |

Sorry to disappoint, but I am an alumnus of UVA. Because of this, I am even more disgusted about this story and feel it to be true. I was a bit of a nerd in college, but did attend frat parties. I was an extremely naive suburban kid, but had friends who were streetwise. They had heard stories about what went on in the frats and we had a pact to always watch out for each other and never leave each other alone at a frat. |

I'm the PP and...no? I think a lot of people are disgusted with UVA, especially VA taxpayers (of which I am one), after reading the story and the testimonies of many other women who have come forth with their stories. This is not to say that this doesn't happen at a lot of schools - and I'm not sure why you'd assume this has anything to do with boosting UMD; I have no connection to that school - but this is close to home and it's Virginia's flagship university. This is serious stuff. |

Penn State is worse. I'm a Umd grad so not affiliated with either. 1) because the victims were children. 2). Because the children were thrown under a bus for a stupid football program. 3) the DA who dealt with the case is missing and presumed dead. His computer was ripped apart , and found in the sesquehanna. 4) the Head coach, AD, assistant AD , president and police were all involved. 6) the students rioted in support of an obviously guilty scumbag coach. 8) the students and alumni still feel like the football program did nothing wrong. By acting like normal people, admitting failure due to the human weakness of trying to maintain an appearance of excellence and grabbing this crap by the horns. Abolishing the fraternity system for 10 years is probably necessary. That would impress me that UVA is a serious institution run by adults in control. |
