Not scientology, but science. Keep denying whats inconvenient to you. And TJ has a range of kids, including some regular gifted kids who are very hard working, but also quite enough profoundly gifted kids. And those kids are not socially isolated which is whats wonderful about TJ. And of course most TJ kids do not try to "party the TJ out of them" They build on whats wonderful about TJ. |

I like Kaya. I think she assumed a tough gig and she's improved the system. It's going to take te but the system and the city are moving. In the right direction.
I'm a Kaya fan! |
| OK, I'll play. Please list 10 of Kaya's accomplishments in terms of improving the system. |
Let's talk numbers. Kaya haters, please show us with actual metrics which previous chancellor has helped improve the city-wide school system as much as Kaya has. |
Are you giving her credit for gentrification? |
Heh. |
Same Heh. You need to mine the data better than that. |
I was told that if DCPS does not improve, the only gentrifiers in DC will be singles, DINKs and empty nesters. Are you saying that is not the case? |
|
Where are the reading increases?

Now THAT's relevant data! Some improvement is better than none, at least. Point scored. |
| Where is the improvement since 2008? So this is Kaya's crowning and only achievement? Too bad it doesn't even jibe with NAEP. DCPS and OSSE are playing DC residents for suckers. |
No, I don't believe that's true, DC's resourceful gentrifiers will make the DCPS schools work for them, or they'll continue to build a successful charter system if they can't get critical mass. (That stated, this will happen in waves, the current crop of people leaning into their neighborhood elementary schools will burn out. The next crop will have to tackle middle and high schools.). As a parent, I've got my own blood, sweat, and tears at an improving school, and our improving numbers have had NO help from Kaya, quite the opposite. |
