Name something that was a COMPLETE waste of money

The arcade they have smack in the middle of the hotel?

And the stupid wizard game that takes half a day to complete if it's working properly. I hate the hotel too. Rooms are tract home quality and the halls smell of mold and mildew. Rooms have old TVs and dingy bed spreads.

20 years ago we paid for an ADT security system for five years in DC/Capitol Hill until we realized our neighborhood was/is fine. Also the architect we hired for our second house reno was a total waste. Still wish I had that $8k back.

Private school in the DC/NoVA area.

Fine neighbourhood homes get burglarized too.

We use ours all the time. It really works!

Designer jeans or any designer clothes for that matter.

My engagement ring - I would rather have that money in the bank right now. It would pay for IVF. (It is a beauty, though.)

Also, I think the wedding industry is a racket. We didn't even spend that much and I still would rather have had a big, cheap BBQ with everyone we know than a small, elegant wedding with 40 guests. I think people who blow 30, 60, 100, 250 grand on a single day are suckers.

Also too, I am a sucker for spending $80/month on a gym membership I never use.

Our piano. I should have done more research and was fleeced by sleazy salesperson.

Oh no! I'm currently campaigning for one right now!

That's funny! 3 years going strong and it is one of my favorite purchases for the kitchen!

Yikes. Hope the location was some where fun at least.

Meh, Would've been much more fun without having to sit through a wedding...

Seriously--that one was on you. How could you have thought that was a reasonable decision? Just say "Sorry, we can't come. Best wishes to you."

Yes, you tell my wife we're not going to her only sibling's wedding.

How did your wife feel about going? Maybe in her mind it wasn't a waste?

CVS will take back all beauty products - open and used - within 2 weeks with a receipt.

Good to know! Thanks for posting.

For us, it was daycare. So much better with a nanny.

Blew $500 on PhotoReading classes. It's a unique take on speedreading in that you deliberately unfocus your eyes when reading so you can't see the letters, then you're not slowed down by reading words -- your mind absorbs it somehow.

Generic speedreading concepts are fine but I now thing this was snakeoil.
