I struggled with our south American nanny about this. She would bundle the baby up in the dead of summer. I work from home and had to demand he only be in a onesie. Visibly disturbed That i would not bundle him in August.I'm convinced that when she took him out of the house she smuggled hats and sweaters out with her and wrapped my poor sweaty baby up.. I'm sure she prayed the rosemary each night for him. I'm sure she thinks its a miracle he has made it 4 years without dying of pneumonia.

On a semi-serious note, I'm from a Caribbean island where it was 'well known' that a hot shower would lead to pneumonia and having a tooth pulled while it was raining would lead to a 'cold in your mole' (mole being that soft spot in the head that babies are orn with)
