Your turn.

LMAO -- Thanks OP, I needed that!

At 21 months, DD isn't yet into meltdown territory, but she has started doing this hilarious bit where she just lies down on her back when she objects to something. She doesn't yell or cry, she just flops. DH and I think it's so funny but we try not to laugh so as not to encourage her. We find most of her attempts to cop an attitude pretty funny, but that's because she hasn't mastered the art yet. I'm sure we'll stop finding it funny once she kicks into high gear!

My DH used to do this too. We thought it was the funniest thing in the world. He's figured out how to throw a proper tantrum, but the lying on the ground in protest is so funny.

My 3 year old melted down when the kitty ran from her after pulling his tail.

My 2 and 4 yo DDs lose their tish when I sing Elsa or Anna's parts when the songs from Frozen come on. "MOMMYYYYYYYYYYYY STOP SINGINGGGGGGGGG"

hahahahahhaha. i can't help it!

My 2 year old suddenly won't let me wipe her when changing her diaper. She will scream out "No wipe PUSS! No wipe PUSS! Diaper on pwease!" while sobbing and squirming.

Told DH this and he blames me for the "puss" language. Which is probably true.

+1. I'm not getting what's so cute about the mostly bratty behavior on this thread. Sure the occasional 18 month old who wants to touch the moon but freaks out when he can't is cute. But meltdowns over candy, broken granola bars, bath water being too hot/cold, showers being too short and whatever else is supposed to be cute? My kid would be in perpetual time out for such behavior.

I feel sorry for your kid. I'm not putting my 2yo in timeout for being confused about how to tell me his water is too hot or too cold. Life is crazy frustrating for a toddler/preschooler.

His bath water wasn't too hot or too cold as that poster said -- she was just pouring in water to make him shut up. So I'm thinking he was just barking orders to get mom and dad to jump at his command, not because he was actually uncomfortable. I'm not really caring if any toddler, including my own, is "frustrated" with life - they'll deal.

I'm the mom of the bath water boy...and also the one who said I won't put him in timeout because of it. When he gets into the tub, he doesn't like the temperature of the water and I don't know if he wants it hotter or colder. I don't think he knows either, but if I pretend to make it better, it makes it better, problem solved. I pick my battles and this is certainly not one of them. I do truly feel sad that your kid has a mom who doesn't care to learn how he operates or why he does what he does.

Haha DS is only 13 months but has also started doing this recently. I wouldn't let him crawl under the table so after screaming a couple times, he lay face down on the floor without moving for at least a minute. This is the kid that does NOT STOP moving, so it was quite impressive. I'm terrified of what's to come...

This is a great thread -- self-righteous folks, please feel free to go back to your perfect kids.

Meanwhile, my 19 month old cried because I was singing Old McDonald. But we HAD BEEN SINGING IT HAPPILY FOR FIVE MINUTES before he suddenly decided he had enough of McDonald and his damn farm.

LOL, ours is the same way - a perpetual motion machine! So when she flops on the floor (sometimes dramatically; sometimes matter-of-factly), we're like, "Sweet! Now it's easier to pick you up..."

NP. Lighten up or go away. Non judgmental zone here. There are plenty other threads to the tune of your song. Thanks!

LOL! Makes me think of Dusfin Hoffman in Meet the Fockers. "That's how we got things done!!!"

Glad your husband is throwing proper tantrums now...

My DD did something similar, and I almost lost it when she started to kick her feet on the floor along with it. It was like she had read a book on "How to throw a temper tantrum" and had finally reached Chapter Two: Feet Kicking.

Wait is she calling her bottom her "puss?" So so so so inappropriate.
