Possible SPD?

Not everything is SPD.

Yesterday my 8 yo had a meltdown when there was only half a cookie left in the box. While crying he says, "Are you going to buy some more tomorrow? You can't end the day without having a cookie!"

Then I told him there were 2 left in the other box I put on the counter for him. "But that is only 2 and half cookies! I wanted 3."

I think he was over tired and had a rough day. No cookies was just the last straw.

lol, my DS has done all these things too!

"I KNOW the rules, I don't LIKE the rules!" One of the most hysterical (and true) statements she has ever made.

She is 13 now.

Awesome response from your DD!

Some of the more recent ones (2yo):
- I wouldn't let him have the very large knife he saw in the dishwasher rack
- I ate the cereal he said he didn't want
- He asked for milk in a green cup, and I gave it to him in the green cup.

These are all HILARIOUS!!!!

One time when my DD was a toddler she was having a massive meltdown, and I was getting pretty exasperated with her, so I asked her "What's WRONG? Why are you having tantrum after tantrum this evening???" She responded "I'm two!!!" It stopped me dead in my tracks with how true and how wise her response actually was. She's 5 now and still has the odd tantrum, but there's more logic to most of them!

-- The "Everybody Sleeps" song came on Sesame Street, reminding her that it would, eventually, somewhere, someplace in the world be naptime.

-- The mere suggestion that she might want to try blueberries was so offensive that she began wailing and screaming.

My DD once had a meltdown on our way out of daycare. She wanted a sticker from the daycare office but there was a private conference being held and she couldn't go in there. She lay down on the ground in front of the door to the building, screaming hysterically, and would not move. For 20 minutes. Even though all the parents and children had to STEP OVER HER.

Wow, you didn't pick her up?

OMG mine had a major daycare meltdown a few weeks ago, too, because I wouldn't let him throw rocks at the side of the building. I was also carrying my 6mo and both of their bags and I got him as far as the car kicking and screaming, but I physically couldnt get him into the car bc if I put him down he would run into the parking lot. Another mom was walking by and had to hold my infant while I struggled to get him strapped in.

We walked past the toy store I always take dd2 to after a certain dr appt. she cried because seeing the toy store reminded her of the dr and she got sad we weren't going to visit him.

17 month old had a 5 min "screaming while lying face down on the floor"temper tantrum because we wouldn't let him take a bath with the new puppy.

He then had a temper tantrum when we put his pjs on him screaming "NO! DONT! NO!"

Not surprisingly he was very over tired and fell asleep without his usual playing/talking to his stuffed animals for 20 min

Oh yes, mine (2 and 4) have done this. Cutting or not cutting a muffin, banana breaking in half when peeled, grapes off the stem or on. End of the world when it's not right!

My almost 3 year old flipped out on DH last night because he didn't know what Fancy Nancy's parents names were (I previously told her when we read it that they were Mr. and Mrs. Clancy). Poor DH did not know this and she was furious when she asked him.

She also freaks out when her 4 month old sister "isn't smiling at her" 24/7.
