Could it be because of the difference in pyramids? |
nit sure |

If teachers had enough time to truly evaluate, but with 25-30 kids, pretty tough. |

I emailed AART on Apr 1st regarding my DS Screening File and didn't get a response. Till the spring break, I am not ready to look at the Screening File as things are not going well with everything. How long should I wait before I call her or email her again? Not sure, whether she is on extended vacation after spring break. With a NNAT of 155 and VQN of 90, I believe GBRS is the deciding factor now. |
[list]In my experience if you do not have the AART and/or teacher on your DS's side. Those scores will not gain AAP acceptance. |
Those scores are very good. The VQN of 90 is probably much better than a 90th percentile in prior years on the CogAT. Based on those scores, your DS would probably do well on the WISC so if the GBRS is low, think about the WISC in the event you have to appeal. Also, pp what is your "experience"? |
Have you heard anything from the AART yet? Keeping in mind that the AART may not be at your child's school every day, I'd say email again or call on Friday if you haven't gotten a response by then. |
I didn't hear from AART yet. She only works at this school only. May be will call her tomorrow. |
Found out only today from AART that GBRS is 16. Comments by Teacher/AART are good and they mentioned daily things which DS does and how creative they are. My DS does those things at home(which are in the comments), but I thought they are expected from a 2nd grader as his Report cards are never that great. Some 3's (other than Language Arts/Mathematics, Music, Art, PE which are 4). Will just wait for decision otherwise go for WISC. (I have heard from a parent that there are many kids who scored above 95 in CogAT from that school so will just wait). |
So OP, I'm curious. Did your DC get in? |
