Chefs/Tv-food Personalities you hate??

He was a try-hard rich silver spoon who pretended to be "street". Best k-12 prep schools, rich connected parents, went to a ritzy SLAC... always thought he was a phony.

Bobby Flay is way so smug and comes across as obnoxious and insufferable. He's REALLY convinced he's the coolest in the room. He's gross, quintessential mid life crisis douchebag.

Guy's schtick is too over the top, to the point you can see him hyping up obviously terrible food. He has zero credibility on his Triple D show anymore.

I've made a few Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay recipes featured on their TV/youtube hits and they were rubbish. So they too dinged their credibility with me.

Can't stand Curtis Stone!

Rhee Drummond and , Sandra Lee both married incredibly rich men and pretend to be down home. At least Ina doesn’t pretend.

I dislike Bobby Flay whole heartedly. I find him lacking any talent where cooking is concerned and he is not even entertaining (Gordan Ramsey) or good looking (the tall aussie guy), so what is the point.

Agree with most of what's been posted, except for the Rachel Ray hate. I'll admit that I find most of what she says annoying and I've never made anything she's cooked, but her 30 Min Meals was what actually got me into the kitchen. I never learned how to cook and was so intimidated because cooking just seemed overly complicated. Her casual attitude and more importantly, her sense of timing (taking advantage of "pockets of time" so that you can get a compete meal done within a limited time) were the keys to making me love to cook today.

I don't hate random people from cooking shows - I don't know them.

I don't watch so many food shows anymore but the ones I liked were Rachael Ray and Ina.

Me too. Really miss Nigella Lawson. Loved her.

Yes yes. All of the above. Love Nigella, and absolutely cannot stand Anne Burrell. She seems like kind of a hack despite her background. And her personality is so incredibly grating.

That weird voice thing she does where she suddenly breaks out into Cookie Monster voice for two words is so bizarre.

He was also so self important and rude. I watched one or two shows where he cruelly ripped on lower middle class people eating at buffets and taking cruises, as if he was so much better and more enlightened than they were. Really turned me off.

I love watching the scenery in her Hampton’s home, but she comes across as very patronizing and smug. But of course I don’t actually know her.

Agree on the Tom love. Surprised this thread is 10 pages long and I haven’t seen (but maybe I missed) mention of Padma Lakshmi. She’s got all the pretensions of Ina Garten (though listening to her speak Italian on this season of Top Chef has been pretty great).

I hate hate Michael Symon’s look (the goatee, the hats, pointy teeth), but he genuinely seems like an easygoing, nice person and I like watching him cook. Same with Anne Burell, hate the look but decent to watch.

I like Deb from Smitten Kitchen and Molly from Orangette, though I like their blogs and books more than on screen I think.

Madhur Jaffrey seems a little snooty to me though I’ve only seen her on a couple things.
