| Utah. They were all very polite and helpful. |
Are you kidding? Trump LOVES Iowa. |
| Georgia and North Carolina |

Hawaii.
Especially for non-White people. |
That’s funny- I’m from Ohio and I think certain parts of Ohio contain very nice people and we viewed Indian with suspicion. Which is weird because the western flat part of Ohio is basically East Indiana. I never thought about Kentucky much but I’ve raised a child far away in a state that’s full of grumpy meanies. When we went to Kentucky recently (as one does) she laughed at me because all the cashiers and rental car workers and grocery store clerks and random people in the Kroger line were so chatty. She said “mom, now I know why you always embarrass me by talking to everyone in public. It’s normal here.” |
the personality and propensity for snide, belittling remarks |
| Utah people are very nice and polite for day to day interactions. I know it might be tougher socializing/forming friendships if not LDS, but since I don't want to socialize that is sort of perfect for me. It's the opposite of New England frosty-nasty to strangers. |
Southern nice is just an excuse to corner you and bring up Jesus. |
Yeah, but you have to live in Iowa. |
Iowa nice. |
More like Trump from New York! |
Iowa loves Trump. Trump loves Iowa. Even the blues are pretty purple in Iowa. This snide, get-the-last-word, “life is great for me so shut up if it isn’t great for you” is the very “nice” ethos of MAGA. Iowa is toxic. Utah, on the other hand, is actually nice. But I also think New Yorkers - in the city - are kinder than Iowa nice. |
