It just goes to show that you can have a fancy degree, fancy jobs and still be a complete, pathetic loser. I hope she never lives this down and it mars her reputation.

I just clicked on this thread, and any lawyer would know these come with strings attached.

Yes, she should have known better.

Obviously everyone would know there would be strings. The question is did she know he was a pedophile trafficking girls?

Yes, she did.

How do you know?

Do you think she was sleeping with him?

Her mentor was the AAG who signed off on his sweetheart plea.

She was having an affair with his criminal defense attorney.

She gave him legal advice on taking minors across state lines to have sex with them.

She told him that he was too controversial to give a WH tour to.

She had a conversation with him about sending Russian girls to a prospective employer.

I’ve cited some but not all of this. This is crazy laid out like this.

I don’t care if she is held accountable before others. Ro Khanna has started reading redacted names on the House floor. Jamie Raskin has publicly said Trump’s in the released cache 1,000,000 times. This will take time. A company we’re supposed to regard as the platinum bank has a GC who merrily gave advice to a predator for a fkn bag and offered White House tours, likely without the knowledge of then President Obama. Are you kidding me with the fkn hand-wringing over unfairness or “feminism yay” with this? Fk that.

She wasn't even at the WH when the tour was arranged. She asked "Lisa" for that favor. I wonder who Lisa is and whether Lisa knew that she was doing a favor for Epstein. And while we're at it, why was her potential nomination for AG shut down? The cover story - her friendship with Obama made confirmation difficult - is implausible. Somebody knew about Epstein is my guess.

You're totally right about the feminism canard someone keeps throwing out. I assume it's part of her PR strategy. Ruemmler, as far as we know, did nothing illegal. She was/is just morally reprehensible.

Apparently she and Lisa Monaco are close friends.

Oh my my. The tour included the situation room which is not at all standard.

Ambitious amoral friends will be the death of us all.

Dear congressional staffer friends: There is most certainly a paper trail of this incident. The system for tours like this is relatively automated but does require someone, with clearance, to request. The records will be with both the WH and the Secret Service.

It is so crazy that this woman is GC for Goldman Sachs!

How and why would Goldman continue to employed her? Does she reflect the firm's standards in terms of judgment, integrity and lawfulness? She must. It's a good look, Goldman.

I think it's time we accept that this IS Goldman Sachs. They hire power brokers and are showing their corrupt asses. I remember being at State when idiotic Dina Powell came there as Asst. Secretary in Educational and Cultural Affairs with almost zero experience except being some Congressional intern/Presidential personnel and coptic Christian darling during the GWOT "Muslim World Outreach" disaster. She went to Goldman right after, which I was when I realized that competence and ethics weren't the point, just connections.

Former State - I immediately knew this was Lisa Monaco. Total B. Birds of a feather...

If Lisa Monaco is the person that arranged the WH tour for Woody Allen/Soon Yi Previn, as a favor for Kathy Ruemmler who in turn was doing a favor for Jeffrey Epstein, that means that the fricking Homeland Security Advisor to the President and Chief Counterterrorism Advisor was compromised by not only a notorious pedophile but also a known foreign intelligence asset.

If it wasn't for this Administration this would be one of the biggest national security failures in history.

Holy Guacamole! I'm in complete shock. This is the highest levels of our national security apparatus.

Words cannot adequately describe the problems a simple White House tour for a disgraced filmmaker this reveals.

Dear Staffers:

Let me be crystal clear. There is a record of who requested the WH tour for Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Preven. It will be found at the Archives and the Obama Presidential Library.

WH tours are very nornal and happen a lot. Obama would have had no idea it happened. But, there is a bureaucratic prodedure for them that should be an official record. Even if it's just an email to a secretary to schedule or a secretary passing on ID numbers to the Secret Service there should be a record.

This is an Epstein mystery that is very easy to solve. There's a nut here to crack.

Who is throwing around the feminism angle? Haven’t seen it

Re the feminism canard, a friend lashed out at me last night for engaging in a 'smear' of poor Kathy. So strange to me. And yeah, F that. Everyone who enabled should be called out, male or female. What I think many of us find strange about her is she was a woman obviously and a lawyer, a trusted adviser for Obama at one point- the NYT article above claimed the admin felt her 'judgment was impeccable' and just a few years later, we find out she is selling her soul for some bags and cheesy med spa botox. Why? What got her to that point? Who is she protecting?

Ruemmler has decided to step down at Goldman according to the WSJ.
Anonymous
She negotiated an exit until end of June!

Whatever dis b#tch has on everyone else must be really evil.

David Solomon seems to be covering for her:

Goldman chief executive David Solomon has stood by Ruemmler since her close association with Epstein first emerged in 2023. He said in a statement on Thursday that she “will be missed”.

“Throughout her tenure, Kathy has been an extraordinary general counsel, and we are grateful for her contributions and sound advice on a wide range of consequential legal matters for the firm,” he said.
….
Some members of Goldman’s board had also privately expressed concerns that Solomon’s backing for Ruemmler could damage the bank’s reputation.

“It’s a distraction and it’s embarrassing,” said one person close to a Goldman board member prior to Ruemmler’s resignation. “It’s not the board’s job to hire and fire people. That is the CEO’s role.”

Several former Goldman executives who form part of the bank’s influential alumni network had also expressed disbelief at the way it has handled the Ruemmler affair.

Five former partners said they were surprised Solomon had chosen to stand by Ruemmler rather than create distance between the company and the controversy. Several former executives described feeling “deep embarrassment”, “crushed” and “profoundly disappointed” by the episode.
