This has been explained ad nauseum.

1. There is not a need for another middle school. There is capacity availability in existing middle schools.

2. Despite the feelings of the RIO crowd, Oakton-bound students are not any more special than any other students in FCPS. That seems to be a difficult concept for the RIO group in particular.
Crossfield and Navy Island stay Carson-Western.

I am a Waples Mill mom who finds the commute to Franklin challenging. We are the largest contributor to Oakton in terms of Students going into it!

I have spoken to Oakton Bound Navy ES Moms (excluding those in Franklin Farm), Oakton ES Moms (those not zoned to Madison), Mosaic ES Moms, and Marshall Road Moms (those not zoned for Madison) who I have gotten to see my point, and they agree.

Those Thoreau Zoned Moms have a 10 years remorse for invading Thoreau and cutting into the sanctity of Vienna, and the other Franklin Moms hate it there!

We reject the Crossfield and Navy Island Moms because we find them illegitimate since they live in Herndon, and we don’t need them to be successful as a high school pyramid.

They can move!

If this isn’t a troll, this has to be the craziest post I’ve seen in awhile
No.

I am one of these Mosaic Mothers who lives right next to Oakton, and I believe that while we are closer to Thoreau, we do need our own middle school.

We are different from the Madison/Marshall community at Thoreau, and Oakton ES parents in the Oakton pyramid long agree with this.

So when we met with Waples Mill parents who felt isolated from the rest of franklin, and slightly more aligned with us, and some Navy parents (ones not in Franklin Farm of Chantilly Bound), we learned that Franklin does not bother them entirely, but that having an Oakton exclusive middle school would be a luxury.

Then we showed them why it was necessary, and they got on board.

This is the same writing style as the post above. So are you a Waples Mill or a Mosaic mom?

New poster and I don’t care if someone is double posting, I agree with Mosiac mom. Our school has been ignored in this study. Just like we were ignored for renovations for decades. Our kids go to 4 different middles, some to Thoreau which has 9 elementary schools coming in, and then to 3 HS. A kid can go so many paths if they go to Mosaic or Oakton, it’s ridiculous.
Thank you.

Oakton Pyramid needs its own middle school and it’s time for the revolution.

Oakton just had a beautiful renovation done.
Lots of kids go to schools that haven't been renovated in decades, and lots of kids go to split feeder middle schools. You Oakton people are so full of yourselves.

And they are creating new split feeders at other schools like Beech Tree ES and Belvedere ES, and creating a new Kilmer/Marshall attendance island in western Vienna, so things work in different directions.

Wait your turn. Oakton HS just got a renovation and you also have privileged access to the new HS they bought.

It's not a credible point since Oakton HS got what it wanted and Oakton HS families are getting favored access denied to others to shiny new Western HS.

Oakton just had a beautiful renovation done.
Lots of kids go to schools that haven't been renovated in decades, and lots of kids go to split feeder middle schools. You Oakton people are so full of yourselves.

+1

Vienna ES and Wolftrap ES got their split HS issues fixed.
Flint Hill ES didn’t get its island addressed, Oakton ES didn’t get its split feeder issue addressed, Navy ES never had its split feeder into Chantilly considered once, and yeah.

This is exactly the point Vienna schools get what they want and everyone else has to wait.

It's not a credible point since Oakton HS got what it wanted and Oakton HS families are getting favored access denied to others to shiny new Western HS.
What does favored access denied mean?

Oakton families are among those with first dibs on opting into Western.

Grow up.

No.

Because they are in the "zone" being considered.

Still cannot believe Reid put this off until JUne.

That poster being upset that the Oakton families who are close to the new high school and may be assigned there (Crossfield) are being given the option of opting in is the epitome of stupid.

Cry some more about that new middle school you’re not getting.

BTW the Marshall Road and Mosaic families at Oakton have the same ability to opt in to Western as those at Crossfield, you dope.
