Are you talking about the racists and white nationalists in power? |
+1 we have a POTUS who is only allowing refugee status for white South Africans, but not for brown/black people from third world countries where governments are clamping down on freedoms and jailing their opponents. |
What does this have to do with anything? They aren't American. We don't owe the entire world entry into the US. |
It’s more evidence that the administration is run by racists and white nationalist always. That’s what the conversation was about. Keep up. Between this and the DEI for mediocre white guys that the government seems to be running it’s a pretty sad state if affairs. |
| Painting all white women as a monolith of evil sexist traitors while somehow justifying all the other people who voted for Trump as less responsible is also racist and misogynistic. |
No one cares if you think it's racist. You think everything you don't like and everyone you don't agree with are racist. You haven't said anything substantive about the policy and why it's bad for America. I cannot stress enough how repellent this BS is to most people. |
| It hasn't even warmed up. Wait until some idiot like.Ken Paxton wants to track women's periods and when they stop,.arrest anyone who didn't have a baby. |
Spoken like an arrogant liberal. Who are you to tell me what my interests are? How is it in my interest to vote for a party pushing affirmative action, DEI, critical race theory, “white privilege”, and “transgender” men in my bathroom and on our sports teams? I’m not part of your “women” voter group. Abortion is not my issue. You have no right to tell other people what they should find important. I will continue to vote for what I find to be in my best interest, which is keeping the Democratic Party out of power. |
dp.. are F*N kidding me? I'll repeat: " we have a POTUS who is only allowing refugee status for white South Africans, but not for brown/black people from third world countries where governments are clamping down on freedoms and jailing their opponents." If that's not a racist policy, then what is? When the POTUS says sh(t like, "Why can't we have more people from Norway.. why do we let in people from sh(thole countries" (that happens to mostly be inhabited by black/brown people), that is racist as F*CK, and you know it. The US was built by poor immigrants, from all over the world, including Trump's mother and grandfather, and refugees like Stephen Miller's family. And more recently, Usha Vance's parents. |
Over the past 5 years, only about 10% of immigrants to the US were from Europe. "Black and brown" people haven't been restricted, white immigrants have. The math is clear. The problem is, you don't want *any* white immigrants. You're the racist. |
Because Europeans are happy where they are and less likely to view immigration to the US as a path to a better life, not because of restrictions |
White South Africans are not happy where they are?? |
Europe is not South Africa. |
No, they are less likely to see immigration to the US as a viable path since they are generally restricted to the visa lottery or employer visas. We have created a situation where it is far easier for non-western immigrants to come here (to the tune of 90% of the immigrant population) and you people become absolutely hysterical at the prospect of allowing a couple thousand white Africans in. You're racist, obviously. |
I could post many links, but you can do a search yourself to verify this one. https://equitablegrowth.org/the-american-dream-is-less-of-a-reality-today-in-the-united-states-compared-to-other-peer-nations/#:~:text=Contrary%20to%20the%20self%2Dconception,(See%20Figure%201.) Upward mobility is far more possible for Europeans than for Americans and this has been the case for some time now, which is undoubtedly the primary reason Europeans have far less interest in emigrating to America than they have exhibited in generations past. Why would people want to come to a country with exorbitant education costs that are not meaningfully subsidized by the government? A country where more than a million people go bankrupt every year from medical debt, many of whom have insurance? A country where there is no national subsidized childcare and no mandated parental leave for new mothers and fathers? Etc. USA is appealing to people from developing nations because it is better than where they’re coming from. It’s not very appealing to most people in developed nations because their countries rank far higher in measures of quality of life than we do. Of course many Americans, especially MAGA Americans, are deluded by American exceptionalism and cannot grasp just how crap conditions are here compared to Nordic model nations where nobody ever has to fear becoming homeless because they got cancer. |
