Someone on here keeps hyping Potomac but I’m struggling to see objectively how they make this claim. They haven’t beaten any of the local top tier 2014s like Loudoun, Arlington or SYC. They haven’t beaten SAC or Bethesda. What’s this based on?

Potomac 2014 Girl's 1st team is one of the best local teams - only the 2014 1st team... rest of girl's teams are ok... Maybe the 2015 team will get a bit better with AG, but they are def not as strong as the 2014s.

Again, what indicators show that this team is strong? Have they ever beaten any of the top DMV teams from 2014?

Obsessing over 10/11 year olds... What a forum. They've beat Arlington, Bethesda, SAC first teams. Haven't been in a flight with Loudon and SYC but I guess you are going to blame 10/11 year olds for their team placement in flights also. People grow up.

I doubt they're a liar; sounds like a parent that half pays attention to the schedule. They see the club on the schedule and forget that 1st teams play against 2nd teams aka B teams. I remember being like that years ago lol. We'd show up and I'd be like oh yeah we should smack this team, we beat them 9-1 last time and my wife who would say no, that was their B team lol.

Arlington Spring Tournament, Spring 2025. Beat Arl Pre-ECNL, Tied SAC Pre-Acedemy, Beat Bethesda ECNL 1.

ARL doesn’t have a team called Pre-ECNL. ARL doesn’t use Pre-ECNL for any of their teams. LOL. They use Pre Acadmey and colors (Red, White, Blue, Black, and on and on). Can you post a link to the tournament schedule/scores. I would be interested in seeing what you are looking at. Also, Potomac 1 team from Spring 2025 is a completely different team than their current Potomac 1 2014 team. A lot of their went to new clubs for the Fall. They did gain 2-3 pretty good players from BSC this year, but they still have a ways to go beat BSC, ARL, SYC and other top teams. If memory serves me correct in the Fall they lost to a Juventus team in one of the tournaments held at Soccerplex.

they literally won the Arlingtons own tournament in the top flight. You must not be familiar with these teams.

Please post a link. If you referring to 2025 Spring, then maybe it’s possible BUT I am quite confident they did NOT beat any 2014G team in 2025 Fall…and I’m quite familiar. My kid plays for an ARL team and we DO NOT have any team that is called Pre-ECNL. Not a one.

It’s on your clubs own tournament page. Weird.. Also in case you aren’t familiar, the tournament is called the ASIST. What’s funny also is that SYC and Loudoun were in the other bracket. And although PSA didn’t beat them directly, they definitely didn’t win the tournament like PSA 14G did.

Yeah so last year, not this year. That is the other posters point.

I wondered if that might be the case which is why I asked where were they looking. I didn’t have to look it up but I was also sure it’s not what we generally use or use last year - last year it was PreAcademy. But now that it’s clear he is referring to old stats, it makes sense. The current Potomac team is not who they were last year. I personally know a few players on that team. They aren’t bad but they are far from one of the best in the area..not losing to a Juventus team.

I think this was said in response to a previous poster saying they never beat any of those teams ever, not saying they beat them in Fall league or anything. Sounds like several great/solid 2014 teams in the greater DMV and PSA sounds like one to look at for those in MD with a 2014G who want another option. Hope they continue to grow and ignore all the haters here who keep on moving the bar to squash any team that tries to improve. There is so much false information in what people are saying to bash this team ('a lot of of their team went to new clubs' - totally false, 'lost to Juventus' - also totally false). So weird how much you folk at the other ECNL/GA teams hate PSA having 1 team that is doing well. So petty.

Is anyone going to make the obvious statement here, that at this age it is about learning not winning? You can beat teams by packing the back and kicking but that won't prepare your child for the future or give them a good soccer education. Also, are they having fun? Why are we shoving Instagram in their faces and teaching them to be ruthless at all times? Can we all think about being better people and teaching our children to be good teammates, leaders and humans?

ultimately it the problem with club soccer in USA. And the reason we are falling behind internationally. Not about development about parents egos.

+1 Another reason I'm looking for the upcoming age change. My kid goes from the youngest to oldest where many of her teammates are IG obsessed and even slightly bullying her for not being on it. That one grade difference is huge at the middle school years.

+1 Another reason I'm looking for the upcoming age change. My kid goes from the youngest to oldest where many of her teammates are IG obsessed and even slightly bullying her for not being on it. That one grade difference is huge at the middle school years.

What club is this so we can avoid it. If 2014G middle school, then we are talking about 6th grade, so PW county, Loudoun County or Private school. PW county is fairly chill, so I’m thinking Loudoun or Private (most likely private). If private, I am leaning towards McLean, GFR, maybe Vienna. Am I in the ballpark? Nevertheless, seems like you need to find a new club because you will just have similar issues the following year.

their last tournament in NC when they faced some real competition:
vs Match Fit White 1-2 loss
vs MVP FC 0-4 loss
vs Cleveland Force 0-3 loss

but yes, they are #1 in the nation! wahoo!
