I have yet to see anything other than outrage at political violence and prayers for Kirk, on Blueskye/the left. I am curious as that what posts you are seeing that are causing problems for you.

Chris Kluwe reposted the “me sowing/me reaping” meme. Also lots of people posting that clip where he says “unfortunately we are going to have some gun deaths.”

As I said in my follow up, tasteless but not justifying it and most posts are rightly condemning.

I am not seeing the problem with posting Kirk's own quotes.

Because all gun violence should be condemned. Mentioning that quote the context of a convo or an article about him would be fine but simply posting that (and only that) moments after he’s been shot is different and if you can’t see that I don’t know what to tell you.

It’s the type of reaction Trump would have if someone he was opposed to was shot, tbh. Personally, I don’t want to be anything like Trump but maybe you don’t mind it.

NP. Your belief is that all gun violence should be condemned, but that's not Charlie Kirk's belief. He thinks gun violence, and specifically political gun violence, is valuable enough that the power to commit such violence should be a constitutional right.

Somebody on CNN said he was stable and breathing.

Then he'll die from blood loss. He's a goner. Sad because he's a dad but also, the sacrifice Americans must make to protect our other rights.

If you are some sort of political figure, your likelihood of being shot is even higher.

Charlie Kirk was ok with this. I am not, but it seems absurd to give him sympathy when he is one of the architects of the current order that put himself in danger. I don’t want him to be shot- I don’t want anyone to be shot. But it’s important that political figures are not insulated from the reality that the rest of us all live with.

And that's the crux of it all. The tortured interpretation of the 2A has enabled this environment.

A man who spewed vile, hateful and violent rhetoric.was shot by a violent and hateful person.. .

I. Do. Not. Care.

Children are ok targets but not political crazies who breed fear and anger?

Please. Anyone involved in this political lunacy should experience the same fear as a parent who’s waiting to hear if their kid survived a shooting.

If we don't stop going down this path, soon we will see kids will be dying in churches, and no one will do anything about it.

DCUM regulars are not politicians. But, yes, Newsom has more decency and compassion than Trump, too.

At least Trump's consistent. He's done what he can.

“We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!” the president continued.

The POTUS swore to uphold the Constitution, including the First Amendment. There is a huge difference between "thoughts and prayers" and the POTUS saying "We MUST ALL pray..." (emphasis mine). Where's his press secretary to edit his comments to make sure he doesn't screw up like that?

OMG. Sounds like the narrative a poster here was trying to sell. Unbelievable.

Pretty clear he was shot in the chest, almost center mass. It looked like it was directly at his heart.

No, his neck was shot, it’s a brutal wound.

I told my husband we need to get a gun. It’s time. I’m scared.

It’s been in this thread, unless Jeff has deleted those posts.

I don’t follow him, he has always been a provocateur, one of many. I also pray for his recovery and strength to his family.
