Robert
Michael
James
John
Christopher

Really? These are the names of dentists. I guess Michael could own his own landscaping company and Christopher would make a good glass artist at Glen Echo. Certainly not powerful names. Fox5 "news" tends to suddenly turn from news into a Starbucks filled with shrieking teen girls -- which is when you have to change the channel if you've already graduated from high school -- and this is one of those "news" stories apparently.

Give me a good paragraph or two about your most powerful males with these names. Fiction preferred (obviously).

might add fictional back stories later …

Amari
multicultural name of various origins. According to Hebrew origin, it means promised by god, while in Yoruba of the Western-African culture, it means strength or courage. Amari also means to live long or long-lived in Arabic.

Ander
Basque masculine form of the Greek name Andreas or the more famous Andrew in English. The name reflects the symbol of masculinity and carries the connotation of bravery and manliness. In German and Dutch, Ander is the short form of Alexander. Hence, it is powerful in various languages and cultures

Gabriel
name of Hebrew origin, meaning "God is my strength" or "strong man of God." The Archangel Gabriel appears in Jewish, Christian, and Islamic traditions as an important divine messenger. The name is popular in Hispanic and Latin American communities. It denotes masculine spiritual strength and dignity in an elegant way.

Juda
Arabic masculine name that means goodness and excellence . The root word Jada means to be excellent. The name represents a strong personality with a focused attitude and determination to succeed.

Martin
A name that signifies power, fertility, and benevolence. The name originates from the Latin Martinus, which was derived from Martis, a name for the Roman God Mars. He is the god of war and fertility in agriculture. The name signifies both power and benevolence.

Martin is of Celtic origin but has variations in different languages, such as Martín (Spanish), Martino (Italian), Martim (Portuguese), and Maarten (Dutch). The Christian saint Martin of Tours is the patron saint of France. He was known for his kindness, generosity and compassion.

Amari

Amari is a spice trade millionaire based in Stone City, Zanzibar, Tanzania. He is very well connected in Tanzania’s largest port city Dar es Salaam. His family do not have the equivalent of billionaire status as his ancestors did in the mid 19th century but nonetheless, he enjoys great wealth and plays important roles in his community.

His family had emerged as wealthy merchants and land owners during Zanzibar's spice trade boom in the 19th century (particularly focused on producing cloves and nutmeg). The Sultan of Oman introduced clove cultivation to Zanzibar in 1818, and the island became the world's largest producer.

Unfortunately, the demand for labor on the spice plantations also fueled the African slave trade. Amari’s great great great grandfather had forced many enslaved people to work on the family plantations. Amari’s great grandfather (also named Amari) was the family patriarch in 1873 when the Anglo-Zanzibar Treaty was signed, which officially ending the slave trade in Zanzibar. Amari’s great grandfather deftly transitioned the family plantations to paid labor and the business thrived.

In the early 21st century Amari took advantage of his many connections and historical high status in Zanzibar to diversify the family business holdings on the mainland. He effortlessly navigated the cultural mixing pot on Zanzibar and in Dar es Salaam by talking and connecting with many different types of people in respectful but jovial ways.

Amari led the charge of Zanzibar business and community leaders seeking to acknowledge its past dark history. In 2024, Zanzibar commemorated the abolition of slavery for the first time, with local authorities expressing a desire to make it an annual event.

Any preferences for next back story on Ander, Gabriel, Juda or Martin? It will take a minute … if no interest, I won’t bother … Akuna Matata …

Well I'm pretty infatuated with this Anders "Ders" - he's played a range of characters, so powerful actor/comedian. He's a swimmer and works that into a lot of his stories, but not a gay swimmer!

Maybe because Wyatt has the same beginning sound as the word whine, I think of Wyatts as being weak and wimpy, and not powerful. The kind of kid who falls while running and then just cries over a barely skinned knee.

This. The guy has 50 million or so descendants. Fathered a kid a day for years. That is strong beyond all others.
