Between property tax and state tax, I'll be just about at $40,000 so I will get the advantage of the new SALT limit to itemize. I am not happy about this bill at all. I hate the idea of increasing the national debt. We are witnessing the USA slide into second world status. Now that is sad. |
Difficult to have a job and keep a job when you require a high level of flexibility due to a high special needs kid/high medical needs kid. If they are ill, they cannot attend school, so someone has to be at home with them---try doing that 4-5 days per month and keeping your job. |
And if you were a Single parent, just who would that person be, the one who "goes to a job daily without fail" |
First, Gov Shapiro - who is a Democrat - is making the decision to cut that. He could keep it the same - or increase it even - and deal with future caps by reducing benefits for adults or the elderly. Instead he’s already saying Medicaid for disabled children specifically will be cut - why? Isn’t that a strange thing to say when he could avoid that? When you realize he’s running in 2028 it makes a lot more sense - He’s going to tell you what he needs to in order to get the turnout he (or another Dem needs) to win in 2028. The side that is the most scared and angry is the side that turns out to vote - tale as old as time. You seem really angry, so his strategy is working if he can keep you upset up to the primaries. TLDR- Don’t take anything as a fact related to BBB until you’ve read the legislation, which none of us has seen because it’s been so rushed. Each side is pushing an agenda to benefit themselves and their party. |
So, are you seriously proposing that if someone has a heart attack they should just lie down and die if they can't afford heath insurance? If they are seriously injured in a car accident, when the hospital learns they don't have insurance they should be dumped in the street, still bleeding and broken? Is that really the world you want to live in? |
I doubt it. Trump‘s tax brackets were insane. Unless you are making at least a few million a year you were paying more money in taxes. |
Yes. It’s the world that all the people whose representatives voted for this bill want to live in. |
By all means, you go right ahead and pay more. |
Yes. If they die they cost society less money than if they go to the ER and cost us all piles of money. That is the point that everyone was making. |
Mommy has worked since age 16 and is raising her kids to do same. |
I'm not sure if our SALT will add up to more than the standard deduction-probably not, but we should benefit on the no tax on overtime deduction. |
A civilized society does not function by people choosing to be charitable or not. This bill is a huge tax break for the rich, while the lower/middle class get crumbs, and the disabled get punished. How charitable of you. |
If you don't see the difference between a 16 YO looking for a part-time summer job and a college grad looking for their entry level position, I don't know how to help you. Yes, PP's anecdote IS the norm. There are plenty of part-time, hourly jobs available if you would get out of leafy McLean once in a while. |
Some do have a demented religious wet dream to force others to suffer. |
What else would you expect from the village psychopath? |
