The irony of the “big bill” is I think it is morally reprehensible but I stand to benefit from it, mostly with the increase of the SALT tax (Between property tax and state tax I currently pay around $30K). I feel horrible that I’m slightly happy that my tax bill will go down as I’m facing job loss thanks to this admin knowing the how behind it and how much others stand to lose. So, how will the bill affect you? |
Consider that the cuts to Medicaid will lead to increased healthcare costs and/or lack of healthcare facilities for everyone. Do you want to live in a country with a class of people who don’t get healthcare? It’s disgusting. |
We will get a large tax cut we don't need and didn't vote for. People will suffer because of it, and that hurts all of us. |
Mixed bag. Our HHI is around $140k, so we might get a tax cut. I work on solar power installations so my job is in jeopardy. Our kids are working through college and are no longer legal dependents so I'm going to miss that cookie. Their futures are a little less bright but my parents were born in the Depression and I was a kid of the stagnant 70s so they'll probably manage. We're no longer on Medicaid so it's probably time to pull up the ladder for those other families. |
As you should. Yikes. People will die, Kim. |
Any tax cut is welcome. Cut, cut, and cut some more is what i support. |
Directly? Minimally, at most. |
This. I don’t care about saving on taxes. We are plenty comfortable and don’t need it. But my heart breaks for those who are losing supports they need for their families. |

We might lose Medicaid.
|
This. The last go-round, our taxes went down even with the SALT cap because of the rate cuts. Now, the rate cuts stay, and the SALT cap is dramatically increased. We have an HHI of ~$500k. We definitely don't need the bump. And way too many will suffer because of it. It's reprehensible. |
That's the attitude. |
+1 This. We are upper income but any savings don’t matter bc the negative in this bill is huge. The lower class is getting completely screwed. People are going to die from the consequences of this bill bc a lot of people will lose the ability to get healthcare. Anything good for the environment is being pushed out w/ the rollback of a lot of green things. Economic growth is going to be curbed. Our kids are going to pay the price for this bill. |

My autistic sibling who can't work is on Medicaid and so I'm very worried about that. |
