Cory Booker Filibuster

An incredible feat indeed!

As opposed to Ted Cruz who read Green Eggs and Ham to protest a law that would stop allowing health insurers to deny you for pre-existing conditions. (I was told that bill was a government takeover of healthcare and that there would death panels. Gosh was that hyperbole?)

Anyway, he’ll break Strom Thurmond’s record and GOOD. Good riddance to anything to do with that guy.

I defy any of the petty whiners on this thread to talk for 23 hours straight and still manage to speak with eloquence and insight about specific Federalist Papers, quoting them by number and drafter, and to connect their relevance to present-day judicial rulings and the lack of accountability by our legislative branch for both the most powerful man (not to mention the richest man in the world who, unelected, is carelessly gutting our entire government).

Seriously. I dare you. Post the videos when you do it.

“The most powerful man in the world and the richest man in the world have taken a battle axe to the veterans’ association, a battle axe to the department of education, a battle axe to the only agency solely focused on protecting consumers against big banks and other factors that might abuse them...What will we do in this body? What will we do in the House of Representatives? Right now the answer is nothing.”

He's also making crystal clear the total hypocrisy of supposedly "conservative" sycophants who claim to care about fiscal responsibility and the rule of law as they see/hear/speak-no-evil their way to irrelevance even as as Trump explodes the debt and gives the government away to those who are already disgustingly -- truly disgustingly -- wealthy.

This is a feat, and Cory's gonna' break the record. Strom Thurmond can suck it.

This! Rooting for the Black guy to beat the segregation filibuster. *chef’s kiss

Perfect.

Not bad! The apology refusers on this website should take a page out of Cory’s book.

Now Cory. Which terrible mistakes did Democrats make?

It says he started at 7pm last night. Exactly? 7:19pm?

Let’s do this!

Just over 30 minutes.
But most importantly is that he’s hitting the substance of Trump’s damage. Booker has covered just about everything with detail! Reading out names of constituents and discussing their concerns. Truly showing himself as a representative of the people.

Chris Murphy using his question to say, essentially, "Strom can suck it."

This needs to be the mantra for everyone in congress. Regardless of party affiliation.
