Feeling of pending dread

The maga movement has only been gaining more traction. Their ability to deflect and make excuses is astonishing. I think maybe we need this period of letting the GOP control it all. Starting tomorrow, there is nobody to blame, nobody to deflect to. We are going to hit rock bottom, and I think that’s the only hope we have that enough people will face the reality of where the GOP priorities truly lie.

So... how about we focus on finding a real presidential nominee that will squash anything MAGA has to offer and we'll together put the disastrous Trump/Biden years behind us? Do you want to be part of the solution or part of the whiny partisan crowd?

Take your incessant, repetitive posts elsewhere. You ruin every single thread with this nonsense.

They are all standing outside with nothing else to at the inauguration now that Commander Poopy Pants is hiding indoors.

Some people can see what’s coming, some can’t. You’re still in the dark.

Folks know what’s coming but don’t want to admit it and I have this out in the bottom of my stomach of just how crazy the next 4 years are going to be. With news that deportation raids will start on Tuesday and the distraction that is the TikTok ban, it feels like we’re just passively moving into oligarchy. Where are the pussyhats of 2017? Where is the resistance? I’m truly truly scared for what is about to come our way…

So many people voted for Turnip because they feared America sliding into oligarchy under the Democrats. And they were sort of right given the close relationship between the Democrats, the Biden Administration, faceless fact-checking "experts" (who were very often wrong) and big tech (remember how quickly censorship of dissenting and unpopular views over Hunter Biden, Covid, etc happened in 2020, 2021, 2022 etc? Now that is oligarchy for you. Nothing like the censorship and 50 intelligence officials declaring the Biden laptop Russian misinformation ever happened under a Republican president, let alone Trump.

Despite the Democrats trying to make tech bros the latest red herring (likely out of a sense of betrayal), the party still vastly outraises the Reps in donations from millionaires and billionaires, while the Republicans have become the party of the working and lower/middle classes. It's fascinating.

I don't fear Turnip. So far he seems to be doing ok. My biggest criticism of him (this time around) is that he hasn't gone out to visit the wildfire sites yet, but maybe he will as soon as he's safely inaugurated.

DP. I agree with your post, but Biden hasn't even visited the wildfire sites.

Here an example of someone who’s about to be unpleasantly surprised. Unless they’re typing from China or Russia.

Russia Russia Russia!

When have I heard that before?

Shouldn’t you have some silly-hat-wearing resistance parade to get to?

+1000
Surprised they didn't dust off their hats and #resist this time.

Nah, we'll just sit back and watch you lose your shirt and your maga hats to what the GOP has in store for you. It's gonna be beautiful, believe me.

So you keep insisting!

They thrive on drama and outrage. That is all.

That this sentence was uttered without a hint of irony by a MAGA cult member

Not a "MAGA." But I most definitely am not a nutty, doomsday LWNJ.

Newsome/whitmer ticket. But won’t happen because they’re both white.

If the dems want to win, they’re not going to run the governor of California. They need to run a moderate.

Is newsom not moderate? He’s not a woke progressive and that’s what matters.

Besides, DJT is at extremist as they come. I don’t think voters are necessarily looking for moderate. Or that they even vote for what they say they’re looking for. In the end, someone who can win the information war is who wins the election. And I have a feeling newsom can fight dirty.

He is the definition of a woke progressive.

If you think voters aren’t looking for moderate, enjoy a continued political wilderness. They absolutely are and what you aren’t understanding is that that shows you how bad an impression Biden Harris had made on the electorate.

Trump is not a moderate and he still won. They need someone who can inspire enough democrats to vote, that is the only criteria.

Because Harris was so much worse. Get it now? Harris was seen as so far left that Trump was the more moderate option even for centrist democrats!

This.
The next four years will be objectively terrible. But hopefully the boil of MAGA will explode and the poison will drain out.

The last four years were objectively terrible with the massive inflation and open border. Trump returning to office gives many of us hope that the country can again be set on the right track.

No it wasn’t.
Unemployment at all time lows.
GDP growth averaged 3% a year.
Strong stock market.
Our economy and Covid recovery is the envy of the world.

You and maybe five other people believe this.

No. It is a fact that the United States has had the best economic recovery from COVID in the world. Not even close.

Millions believe it.

Yes that’s what they need right now is to pull local police from fire related work to work on Presidential security.

Fact. The Economist (hardly liberal) had an issue dedicated to the enviable U.S. economy. The U.S. economy had a soft landing that was spectacular.

I’m OP. I’m a moderate. I’ve noted for both Rs and Ds in my life. I’d be perfectly happy with a Romney type candidate and quite liked Hogan. I’m terrified of the next 4 years.

I bet you were optimistic on Biden’s inauguration thinking he would be the candidate of moderation and a return to sanity. You were wrong then and you’re wrong now to be terrified.

You voted in a lying, cheating, self serving felon and rapist. No one cares what you think....you don't seem to realize how stupid everyone thinks you are for this. Your orange god does not care about any of you he ran to keep himself out of prison.

Unhinged rants don’t add to this discussion.

nor does yours but we listened to your stupidity for years "not my president" Get over yourself hypocrite. And yeah your guy is a criminal-good job

No no no no. The “not my president” line came from democrats starting 2017.

We are FJB.
