Really? I heard 08s have 25 on the roster, 07/06 over 32; 09s pretty big too. Not sure about younger age groups.

“Really I heard” when that’s all you got maybe don’t post. Start with “I’m a parent and” or “I looked at PlayMetrics and”.

A parent will only be able to see their kid's roster, not other teams.

Sensing some strong bias here.

The PP was actually being kind. It was 3-0 and NVA had a bad injury. Could have been 4-0 but for a questionable offsides call. NVA took there foot off the gas which they need to learn not to do.

NVA 2010 parent here.

I agree Union does not have enough speed and athletes to compete. The speed of play is way too slow. You can clearly see our girls are fighting for their positions (DB not kidding around with this). Union is too comfortable as everyone gets to play. Burying slow players in key postions - the attack and the midfield. The players in attack do not have the speed to take anyone on (looking to pass even in a situation where there is one v one). Same case as the midfield can't stop anyone as they are too slow. They really do not have anyone in the midfield that can defend at this fast pace. They do not have any real defensive midfielders. Leaving it up to the back three. Who are trying but its too much pressure on them. They have two attack players (one just came back from injury) that are good and another defender that is good and fast but not enough to compete at this level. With the talent they have, the 3 back formation will be a disaster. Only works when you have a very strong attack and midfield which they are lacking. They need to switch to a 4 back to make it through the season.

This is spot on analysis, I would surprised if this was actually a parent

Is this true? Post the link

https://www.soccerwire.com/tryout-camp/ecnl-girls-goalkeepers-wanted/

Wow. At least they have identified a weakness and trying to fix before the season starts. Conceding cheap goals that are direct to the goalie and beyond the goalie's reach and losing the game. I bet they are looking for someone taller and athletic. They are putting the pieces together to make a run for the playoffs.

We all knew that DB could recruit with the best of them but this is taking it to another level. Where’s the NIL money?

Why are you guys on DB. He is new to the club and trying to succeed. He has to win otherwise he will be gone. NVA is a competive environment, not like FVU where its kumbaya socccer (keep everyone happy).

Oh I promise you not everyone is happy - the BRAVE coaches are pushing their favorites. McLean is totally powerless.

Yeah that’s why you should have left; All the signs were there and several good players made moves as you well know.

You are right. We fell for the promises. We won’t make that mistake again.

Really easy here let me help you.
1. Go to the ECNL website
2. Click on the team and year
3. Count the number of players
4. Count the number of players on every team in California if you want
5. Come back and comment on other people's choices

The end.

I had to take off my shoes and socks to count this high, but I see 25 and 26 on the 08g and 07g roster page. Seems in line with what FVU put out publicly about their plan. I don't know why you care if you don't have a kid on the team or considering the team/club, but you do you.

Yep, but younger teams are much smaller. Average of 18 for 10s, 11s, and 12s.

Agree that FVU did better on roster sizes at younger ages. 08s is egregious at 25 and 09s have 22 which is too many. Other 4 age groups reasonable.

I did a quick glance through some of the other local teams (and some of the more prestigious ECNL clubs. Rosters of 20-25 for high school ages are not an anomaly.)

There's a big difference between 20 and 25!

I don't think it matters that much for the oldest age group (06/07), but it matters quite a bit for the other high school age groups.

Go ahead and start your own.
My kid isn't in the app yet. I assume she's waiting on carding still

But the discussions regarding girls teams are always lacking soccer value and more in line with Real Housewives of Virginia drama

Sadly, so true.

Anything other than the oldest age group should probably be limited to 20. Have the top 3 RL kids practice 1 day a week with the NL team, but don’t play games and roster them but never play them.

18-20 max, with two keepers. I’d prefer it be 18 only, but injuries are pretty normal for HS age players, so 18 healthy could be a problem.

First weekend of ECNL, and Union did well across the age groups and sit as the leader with 2011, 2010, 2009. Only 1 loss with 2008.

Maybe the merger is good for them after all.

FVU has a lot of private high school players who are in-season right now, overlapping the front-loaded Mid-Atlantic ECNL season. These players could have 4 games in a week plus practices. Older FVU ECNL teams need a deep bench due to fatigue and injuries.

This is spot on! If you saw their games this weekend, you would see that everyone gets the same amount of playing time. The coach does not play to win. It will be hard for them to keep that up when it comes to the tough teams. They will lose for sure.

What's wrong with developing all of the players?

Some of these score lines show huge disparity in the mid atlantic. Some of these NC teams appear really weak.
