Wow. At least they have identified a weakness and trying to fix before the season starts. Conceding cheap goals that are direct to the goalie and beyond the goalie's reach and losing the game. I bet they are looking for someone taller and athletic. They are putting the pieces together to make a run for the playoffs.

run or not… the ball has to get down to the goalie for those shots on goal to even happen. Gotta shore up the rear otherwise u get the same issues other teams have w taller goalies… they get worn out from constant saves.

Sensing some strong bias here.

The PP was actually being kind. It was 3-0 and NVA had a bad injury. Could have been 4-0 but for a questionable offsides call. NVA took there foot off the gas which they need to learn not to do.

NVA 2010 parent here.

I agree Union does not have enough speed and athletes to compete. The speed of play is way too slow. You can clearly see our girls are fighting for their positions (DB not kidding around with this). Union is too comfortable as everyone gets to play. Burying slow players in key postions - the attack and the midfield. The players in attack do not have the speed to take anyone on (looking to pass even in a situation where there is one v one). Same case as the midfield can't stop anyone as they are too slow. They really do not have anyone in the midfield that can defend at this fast pace. They do not have any real defensive midfielders. Leaving it up to the back three. Who are trying but its too much pressure on them. They have two attack players (one just came back from injury) that are good and another defender that is good and fast but not enough to compete at this level. With the talent they have, the 3 back formation will be a disaster. Only works when you have a very strong attack and midfield which they are lacking. They need to switch to a 4 back to make it through the season.

Wait, are you talking about the 2011s, or 2010s? I assume the 11s, given Union won the 2010 scrimmage 4-0?

It sounds like the scrimmages were a tie overall. Union 12s and 10s won, NVA 11s and 09s won, and 08s were a tie.

Really? I heard 08s have 25 on the roster, 07/06 over 32; 09s pretty big too. Not sure about younger age groups.
