Looking to 2028

I’m not sure he’s wrong either. That’s why I gave the trans whiner above a reality check. People are legitimately wondering if our democracy has reached its expiration date, if a hot war with Russia is at hand, if Europe governments will go far right, and if project 2025 will make serfs of everyone female or non-white. Meanwhile, some dummy is crying transphobia because JK Rowling was mentioned. For heaven’s sake, have a sense of timing.

That would surprise me a LOT. He’s done.

The silver lining is that (if we don’t go down the totalitarian path) they’ll be another election in four years and Trump will be as old and enfeebled as Joe is now.

Any thoughts on what a 2028 matchup might look like? It’s interesting because it could be a clean slate and neither party has done a good job of promoting younger candidates.

Dear OP, I was thinking of starting this very same topic/question!! I agree that 2024 is a sh*t show and either way the next 4 years won't be fun. Unfortunately, you should have added a line requesting that all replies NOT include any rhetoric related to Trump or Biden.

As for me, I'll respond with what I'd like to see...

Republican: Youngkin/Sarah Huckabee Sanders (you can hate Youngkin all you want but the VA economy is strong and low unemployment - he has also done a great job of governing and listening to his entire constituency...not just catering to NOVA). While I'd love a female presidential candidate...I feel like Youngkin is being groomed. Personally, I wish it was Sarah Huckabee Sanders/Marco Rubio, but that will likely never happen.

Democratic: Doug Burgum/Gretchen Whitmer or Michelle Lujan Grisham

It will exist.
It will be different.
EU gov'ts going far right isn't necessarily a bad thing...citizens of EU countries are seeing the effects of open borders and forced acceptance of immigrants all being given handouts and housing, while inflation sky rockets for the working-class citizen.
Another "cold" war with Russia might happen - been there, done that and we survived.
