By the way, I’m not a cop lover - especially not after having worked with them for years. Some are good, many not so much. Most of them would be the first to call me or come to my office looking for a pass for their kid’s drunken driving or whatever. My comment is not about cops, it’s about the rule of law - which so many Americans feel shouldn’t apply to them.

Can you tell us where the golfer resisted arrest? This cop clearly needs more training about how to manage traffic, maybe he should go back to desk duty for awhile.

If I drove through a traffic barricade and continued on my way despite a cop practically adhered to my vehicle, knocking on the vehicle and yelling at me to stop, my fat ass would be in jail - especially if that cop was knocked down and injured by my colossal stupidity/arrogance.

Do you have any idea how many cops get killed on traffic details in this country every year?

Other players have stated that they were told they could proceed to the venue and in fact, did exactly what Scheffler did to get around traffic? Also where was the cop adhered to the vehicle? How did that happen? Why aren't those facts in the police report?

Because they’re irrelevant? You don’t get to drag a traffic cop because you have a marked car. I get maybe it was an accident, but as the driver you’re responsible for knowing if a cop is “adhered” to your vehicle.

By the way, a “marked car” at these golf events is literally just a small magnet on whatever sponsor automaker cars pulled from local new car dealerships. There might be nearly 1,000 “marked cars” for a PGA major rolling in and out of an event. Doesn’t mean you’re the freaking Pope and time stops for you.

“Officer, are you aware I’m driving an OFFICIAL loaner vehicle with the event magnet on a door panel? That pretty much gives me a pass to do anything I want.”

Rules, traffic laws & law enforcement officer commands don’t apply to me because I have an event sticker on my Cadillac Escalade rental.

He very well was. Several witnesses confirmed. Cops changed the story on the arrest record.
