It’s pretty common for teams to have to pick up players from other teams if they don’t have enough. Reach out to the people running the league and let them know. They’ll try to help you get more players.

I've often seen an extra goalie play against their own team.

DD team does this often since they have 2. Once they split halves for 2 games going on at the same time and played a half with their own team and a half with a team on another field. If you let the people in charge know when you get there, they normally go around to ask teams to see if people will stay to help out. We also basically played against ourselves week 1 because the other team didn't have enough. It's just indoor, people help out.

They are right. Reach out to STJ ad let them know you need to change. There may be other teams needing to switch too. If they can't switch, they may be willing to help find other players to help out. As other posters noted, sometimes the other team you are playing will send some players over. After all, it's indoor and the goal is to get some work in. No one gets a championship.
