John 18

Jesus said, "I am he"

mic drop.

notice, He didn't say, " I am he/him, and you can be he/him even if you were born she/her, or a they/them".

mic drop

A more colloquial translation would be, "That's me."

Jesus: Who do you want?
Soldiers: Jesus of Nazareth.
Jesus: That's me.
Soldiers: *fall down*
Jesus: Who do you want?
Soldiers: Jesus of Nazareth.
Jesus: That's me. Let these people go.

Nobody in real life currently says, "I am he." Or, if you were pointing a person out, you'd say, "That's them."

No one falls down, because you say "That's me." The soldiers fall down because "I am he" is invoking the name of God.

That wouldn't make it more sense even if it were an accurate translation, which it isn't.

This must be a boon for Christian school enrollment. It’s going to go up in MoCo

It’s not one thing, it’s death by a thousand cuts. And Christian/Catholic schools are significantly cheaper than independent schools so religion is not the primary driver for most to enroll. They are just looking for the most reasonably priced exit from a school system that works for some but is an obvious dumpster fire.

This is why we put our kids in a Christian school. It wasn’t due to religion, but to a desire for traditional emphasis on academics. Should have done it a lot sooner.

Aren't you worried that your children might not recieve the necessary pronoun training to function in today's society?

Not only that, but who will provide them with hormone therapy (without your permission or even notification, of course) to begin transitioning if their teacher thinks they’d be better off as some other gender?

You’re going to miss out on that in some patrician private.

This is depressing. We are truly living in an Idiocracy.

MoCo actively courts low income people and UMC people with petty interests like pronoun usage and displays of obedience. NoVa actively courts multi-billion dollar industries and truly wealthy people.

I moved to MoCo when it still had a good reputation for schools and low crime. I left after COVID and my kids are doing so much better that I feel guilty we didn't leave during COVID.
