Because most are. |
And that proves what? |
Man you are dumb. If a school wants to pick the most qualified students among the “full pay,” which certainly seems more fair than any other kind of system for admitting “full pay,” why wouldn’t they look at the broadest pool of “full pay” applicants, which includes international applicants? |
let me restate: there is no really valid reason for it. Neither inflation nor wages have increased as much as college costs. The "reason" is because those expensive colleges are greedy. |
Because that isn’t how it works. Need blind schools, which includes all the elite schools, don’t consider ability to pay when admitting domestic students. They only consider it for foreign applicants, because they are need aware for foreign applications . |
Yea you can’t be this dumb for real. You just can’t be. NINETY FIVE percent of the world doesn’t live in the USA. So, yes, to use your disgusting word, the world in NINETY FIVE percent foreigners. That’s why there are more foreign students here than there are USA students elsewhere. There are more foreign students everywhere in the whole friggin world! God why am I engaging? I should be weeding my yard or something. |
There are colleges out there who do offer financial aid to international students. I don't know how much I agree with that but I guess those colleges are thinking they'll do anything to attract diversity? |
I’m not reading 11 pages but I agree OP. |
I’m op but that isn’t my post. There are multiple posts here that aren’t mine. |
Yes about half a dozen. The great majority do not. |
No, because my spouse came here over 20 years ago, and at the time, there weren't enough workers in that industry with that particular skillset (I work in the same industry). They were able to charge a lot because of that reason. Not the case today. That skillset is a dime a dozen today, and the pay has decreased by a lot because of it. And that's fine. Supply and demand, and market rate, and all that. But, the job market has changed from 20+ years ago. There are certainly specific fields that we still need foreign workers in, namely in the medical profession, but the international undergrads here aren't all majoring in premed. IMO, graduate degree is different as there doesn't seem to be too many issues regarding space for graduate/PhD programs, unlike undergrad programs. |
Lol wut. Congress and States should fund our public schools and USA should keep on poaching the brightest minds in the world. |
Op here, and I agree. My proposal was only for undergraduate spots due to extremely high amount of domestic applicants. If there are graduate degree programs or professions where there is low supply domestically, then it makes sense to have no limits on international applicants. |
