Friends is the dopiest, most basic show

PP here I meant I would say the punch line in my head not out loud to my roommate! Only one of us needed to be annoyed.

I was shocked to learn friends is really popular in the Uk. Friends humor is very American. I don’t even like it at least not for laughs. It’s too cutesy for me

Friends is actually a very funny show.

The actors are all very talented ➕funny and the writing is top notch.

In it’s heyday it was the favorite show of Gen X.

It was a different time. We all watched the same (few) things on TV and talked about them the next day. I like the first few seasons of Friends the best and watched much of must see TV. Clutter and color were okay in the 1990s - it wasn't so sad and beige and minimalist like we are supposed to be now. And at the time, there were kinds of shifts in sitcoms - there were shows about families and shows about adults. Friends represents a time and place and there are episodes that I still really like.

Wow, never heard this take before.

Women watched it for the hairstyles & clothes. Guys watched it for Anniston’s nipples.

Friends, Seinfeld and SATC were all so neurotically Jewish to me. And I’m half Jewish. I prefer Frasier. Frasier is exponentially smarter and more re-watchable than anything else during that era.

Seinfeld had been moved to three different time slots before it became a hit. It was finally moved between Friends and ER before it became a hit. Moving it to Thursday nights was itks last stand before being cancelled. It wasn’t that good.

Aisha Tyler?
I thought she was gorgeous and loved her character. But her time in the show was short-lived.

Frenchy over here.

Friends is VERY famous in France, we can all relate to the humor.

A show like Frasier was never sucessful over here (for instance).

I am a Friends fan but always skip the first season. I couldn't bear Ross' attitude, then he did a 180 and became hilarious.

Season 1 was different. It was a slower show, with more moments that had nothing to do with the story. I enjoyed it a lot, especially the episode with the blackout.
