I didn’t realize that some neighborhoods with highly rated public schools, send a high percentage of kids to private. I should have done better research. I ended up in a neighborhood with about 50% of the kids at private. That’s a minus for me. I prefer the neighborhood feel where the kids go to public and walk to school together. I don’t know if either exists in Bethesda of McLean.

Many bethesda neighborhoods have a neighborhood feel where kids walk together to public school.

+1

Our current Bethesda neighborhood feels more welcoming and community centered than those we’ve lived in previously.

MD has become too blue as the years have gone by. We like it in the middle and NOVA gives us that.

Absolutely McLean. 20 min commute to DC (maybe longer depending on traffic and destination). Excellent schools. Real estate going up exponentially in McLean due to limited availability of houses on sale. Absolutely McLean!

This is pretty silly. The only thing reminding you it’s a southern state is that Youngkin got elected on fluke after COVID school closings. He and his type are on their way out though. The VA Assembly flipped back to Democrats because we saw thru him. No one has mentioned all the excellent options for in state colleges in VA. Way better than MD.
