If I had to do it over again, I’d pick VA for the college options. UVA, W&M, Va Tech- all we have that is comparable is UMD. |
| Bethesda always. No rational, thinking person would move to Virginia under the current circumstances. |
If your near the Italian Store, you’re too close to the DCA flight path and noise. Including Spout Run/Lorcom Ln/Military Rd. |
Yep higher crime in Bethesda. There’s no physical barrier like the Potomac River to keep out the DC crime. They could just walk to Bethesda. |
| Northern virginia is great but then you get the rest of Virginia. Always choose Maryland. --' DC native who has seen a lifetime of election cycles |
| Neither- look at Arlington specifically the Orange Line neighborhoods. |
| I had similar requirements when moving to the area. I worked in DC and wanted to be close to metro (like less than a 15 min walk). I also wanted highly rated public schools. I didn’t realize that some neighborhoods with highly rated public schools, send a high percentage of kids to private. I should have done better research. I ended up in a neighborhood with about 50% of the kids at private. That’s a minus for me. I prefer the neighborhood feel where the kids go to public and walk to school together. I don’t know if either exists in Bethesda of McLean. |
You want CCMD. Specifically the neighborhoods that go to Westbrook ES. |
|
| UMBC, St Mary's Towson.. |
Huh? You can walk across the various bridges connecting dc and va quite easily. |

I feel like you have to make more than $500K to feel comfortable in either McLean or Bethesda.
|
| How about Chevy Chase? |
Many bethesda neighborhoods have a neighborhood feel where kids walk together to public school. |
