A one off. How do we know you aren't lying? Emory is factually the most competitive and highest ranking school in Georgia. Get over it. And UGA could have easily yield protected that girl.

The Emory boosters are getting increasingly silly.

+1; descending into "fetch" territory. Just not going to happen.

this applies to UGA and GT than any other school mentioned in this thread.

And no I'm not an Emory booster I'm talking to the font that mentioned Gatech wad better than UVA.

+1 there trying to make UGA out to be some great school, when it's just another state school that isn't particularly good at anything. It's selective because its free for most students that go there.

State schools are going to surpass private schools sooner than later

UGA and GT are entirely different schools.
It’s not that that UGA is “so great” but that it is not an easy admit- especially out of state.

Are you going back and forth between threads saying the same thing? UGA is a decent school but doesn't make sense for DMVers to pay out of state cost for it.

So where should DMVers who want a big state university apply?

You're delusional, it's actually the other way around. Republican governors will continue to take money away from education. See Florida.

half the people who say they go to Emory are actually at the Oxford Campus.

That would be because they are. Oxford College and Emory College are both campuses of Emory University.

Oxford is very small. But that proves people see Oxford differently than they see Emory.

Just like Barnard & Columbia

When people apply to Emory and get assigned to Oxford, it means they are not ready for the Emory campus.

Exactly, they are different and should be judged as such.

Do tell. What's going on with Florida and funding for higher education? Are they decreasing the state's share of funding?

Do you want to compare the cost of attending UF instate with UVA or UMD instate?

Read HB 999 and get back to us.

Not to mention Florida Universities are going to lose their accreditation if they go Christianity first. Which is the plan so...

And yes the state is going to cut funding. Florida is also going to do away with those scholarships like Bright Futures.

I am an alumnus at UF I have a large scholarship fund there I just closed because I just got a letter stating I must be on board with "Christian Values "in order for students to continue receiving the scholarship.

Florida also is not a safe place for students and it will get worse. And for god's sake if you are stupid enough to send a kid OOS in 2023 God help you. Make sure they know to use a burner phone to call you.

Florida just expanded eligibility for bright scholarships and have added scholarships like the Bracey scholarship. Florida seems to do as much if not more to help with college education than other states.

Except they teach the Rosa Parks was brave. AND NOTHING ELSE. So, I guess you get what you pay for.

Huh? Florida is around $7k a year for tuition in-state. What are you smoking? Ironically it’s the red states that have more reasonably priced flagship schools!

Of course UVA is an exception

But UVA is better than GT and UGA.

It is absolutely not better than GT. You all seriously underestimate these schools.

GT is only good at engineering and some STEM. UVA is better for almost everything else.

GT doesn’t offer “everything else” and they are better at everything they do offer. UVA is a great school but no one can seriously claim that it’s “better than GT.” They are different kinds of schools and GT is one of the best at what they do.

As a UVA grad I completely agree. GT is one of the absolute best for CS and Engineering.
