I visited Central America recently and it's debatable whether the Spanish colonial period, as bad as it was, was much worse than the United States Fruit Company turning the independent countries into banana republics with the CIA manipulating their governments.

Look at what the West has done to Haiti. After independence France put them in debt for literally over 100 years that was financed by American as well as French banks. That debt meant that they never had a chance to develop. The one government that considered not paying was overthrown thanks to the brave Marines fighting on behalf of US bankers to seize Haitian assets

Could it be that higher population itself increased the poverty rate? More poor people having more kids would boost a poverty rate very high.


Nobody invited them to come robe the resources, kill the defiant and impose their solutions. Its not any different than shipping blacks to be slaves to solve their problems.
