The PG Pool is racist [MD]

We are a Caucasian family who actually live in Mt. Rainier, and we were on the list for almost 10 years before we got in. Our neighborhood friends used to bring us in as guests frequently. Both these families that were members before us and would bring us in as guests are POC. They got in before us because they put themselves on the waiting list before we did.

It's not explicit racism, but definitely there are implicit racist forces at play that many current members want to sweep under the rug.

You are crazy.

Just a few years ago they were begging for people to join and took all comers.

How many of these days are you having? Sounds like a gesture to save face by giving the poor in this community a few scraps.

Again, how is the PG Pool different from any of the other NUMEROUS private membership pools in the DMV?

How is this any different from the myriad of other private clubs in the area?

It’s private. Members only.

What part of that is so difficult to understand?

+1 I am not understanding this at all. Are there no county pools nearby? Perhaps the name “PG Pool” is creating confusion because people assume it is a county facility.
