Everyone buys the story that her first marriage was a sham, to get over the Iron Curtain. But was it? Maybe her husband really loved her--an attractive, intelligent woman -- and perhaps he thought they would have a life together? If you look at the relationships thread on DCUM you will see that people frown on those who do not take their marriage vows seriously

Hope she died instantly. It would be scary to take a long time to die alone with a broken body. Her last minutes would have been scary, painful and frustrating.

I did too, but that would make her mom either a teenage mom or someone who has unusual longevity. Isn't she something like 94?

She had a home in St. Tropez and probably was into tanning. A lot of former athletes have severe orthopedic issues and if you hate going to doctors then it isn't going to get better.

Look carefully at the picture of Ivanna standing next to the woman identified as her mother, Marie Zelnickova.

I find history of the cold war and what happened behind the Iron curtain fascinating because there are so many people who's stories have these dead end walls where there is simply nothing known

For example, her father was described as an Engineer in his obit, but there is no record of where he got his degree

At a time when whole generations of East Europeans were arrested or shot trying to escape, she makes it out at just 20 with a marriage of convenience to a " ski instructor" who, despite being equally young ( 21) somehow manages to make it to Las Vegas and later LA ( to teach skiing - in LA ? ) and then very quickly - amazingly quickly for a just 23 year old all alone in America not even speaking English a quickie divorce in CA and then ALLLLLL the way across the continent to Montreal supposedly again as a " Olympic Alternate" except Czech team has absolutely no record of that...

She has no siblings ....

I give credit for her force of will and determination to make it in NYC and attempt to manage a man who is no doubt exasperating , but I think there is a LOT to this story we do not know.

Medical examiners can instantly see much of the truth about a person's age with all their decades of experience ... of course, they are like Priests and the dead should have their secrets I suppose . Its just I think there is much more to her past

Donald is very good at planting stories. I don’t believe how he met either Melanie or Ivana, and Ivana and Donald played the media to get the stories they wanted out there.

I do think she was a smart, common sense type of person. I was surprised to hear her interviewed about things like life after divorce, dealing with Melania, etc. Seems like a nice person. But sorry, she was not model material, ever. And she raised three horrible kids.

Exactly the kind of person Trump would be close to.
