one of your top returning players is rumored to be transferring to McDonogh...

current parents/alumni boosters attempted to oust the current head coach but only to be shot down by the admin...

there is more than just smoke

sound like it is true ^

the GP LSM is a very good player... not sure what games you have been watching.

Agreed. This all sounds very petty.

addition by subtraction. Lil Hoyas have plenty of depth at close defense and LSM to plug in the gaps.

Yes, they do have tons of depth and made it to the NHSLS Championship game with several starters missing. They will be just fine.

McDonogh lost two games. Not a great showing, even without their star player. One player shouldn’t bring you down at this leve

The older Millon didn't play nor did the Prep LSM who is jumping ship for his senior season.

Has anyone thought about the current starting LSM at McDonogh? He's a four star and committed to Brown. Was likely looking forward to a great senior year and will now be riding the bench unless the new LSM remains injured. If the rumors are true, it's an unfortunate twist of fate for him as well.

Big-time HS programs recruit - what don't parents and players understand, especially if the school has a dorm to house prospects. Prep recruited in another FOGO transfer from the Richmond area this year. McDonogh recruited a FOGO from a NOVA public school this off-season. The list can go on and on.

If your son has his feelings hurt because a transfer now shows up in HS, you might want to think twice about playing D1 lacrosse.

D1 lax coaches are recruiting over their own players and it's only getting worst with the transfer portal. Sure you might get the 4 or 5-star attention from that bozo clown Ty Xanders and Inside Lacrosse, but the moment your son steps into the locker room on a college campus, its back to square one. College coaches are already thinking about their next crop of talent or graduate transfers they can lure in.

Not the parent, don't even know the kid. Just pointing out the flip side to all this.

And most high school coaches, recruit for positions that need to be filled not spots that already have good players.

This article says it all - https://footballscoop.com/news/nebraska-strength-coach-zach-duvals-message-players-coaches-job-bring-better-talent

Goes for all levels to include club ball.

I don’t actually agree with that statement. Coaches are always looking and willing to listen if the best players become available. The Prep LSM is a top 5-10 talent. Every coach and team in America would listen if he called.

+1 that any HS coach would gladly take him on their roster.

True…original poster has no idea about real lacrosse if on here talking about feelings hurt. He has a long stick. If he is a 4 star Brown commit then he will beat out his competition at LSM or he will drop down to close D making the McDonogh D unit even better. Or he can pick up a short stick and work on his footwork. Feelings in this situation is a first world problem. It’s about winning at levels like MIAA, IAC, D1. He’ll be fine.

given how many GP boosters and parents read this forum and post on here, I guess its true the LSM is going to McDonogh for his senior year.

And 2025s too. MadLax is the best in the area for 2025s.

Not even close for 2025s. DMV area is blessed with great clubs. Yes, MadLax is one at 2025 but Hawks is #1, DC Express is #2, Next Level is #15 or #16, and this doesn't even talk about all the good players at Black Wolf and Top Caliber.

So, no. MadLax is NOT the best at 2025s.

Maybe they meant most HYPED?

Actually, Madlax 2025 won the Naptown tournament today.
