I would much rather kids stay in school. Spread in school among kids seems limited and manageable, even with masks off. Things seem to get out of control when parents are in the mix. Please don’t let our school be the next to be shut down. Keeping school open is more important than the auction - I’ll donate more if you cancel.

There are many events happening now with parents and other outside individuals in attendance in many schools. Our school had its musical a few weeks ago and many family members and friends attended with no masks!! It was wonderful and there were no issues. It doesn't matter! People will get sick and stay home. It is no different than before covid. The flu is worse this year!!

You’ve posted about this musical several times and at this point it had to be quite a while ago. Things have changed. DC and Arlington are at medium community transmission. When your event occurred we were almost certainly at low.

Sorry, but it doesn't matter. The covid is a cold now. Get on with your life. I am attending another musical this weekend at an ADW school and it is mask optional and ALL are invited to attend!!

Troll the ADW schools are closed this week.

It’s not technically ADW. Catholic HS. Open this week.

And so what? It’s a freaking cold at this point. GET OVER IT!

So it's not an ADW school. Not "not technically" an ADW school. It's NOT an ADW school. You lied.

It's a Catholic HS associated with ADW, but not controlled by ADW. So like I said, you could still call it ADW. It's semantics. Why do you care?

What is it about father-daughter dances. Holy Trinity had a father daughter dance on Friday and the first Covid notice just went out. So mad for caving to the peer pressure. It was pouring rain so everyone was jammed into an enclosed space. Sigh.

Sigh. When will people stop caving into their neurotic tendencies and let others live the way they are going to live? Afraid of catching something at the dance? Don’t go!

Except then infected kids will spread it to others back at school, those kids bring it back home, parents spread it to coworkers, and on and on.

Our school just went through this and it was not pretty.

This is the COVID way of life. If you don't like it, sign your kid up for virtual schooling and live in your basement.

Or you can do common sense prevention that works -
for example, did they rapid test before the dance? IDK, just saying there are layers to bring numbers down to manageable - just like guarding a building perimeter. It's not one thing or nothing.

Exactly. This whole “live in your basement narrative” is so trite and tired. I’ve been doing plenty, but felt safer when there were proper precautions. Now every event becomes a superspreader and there are ways to prevent this with common sense mitigation efforts.
