Do you try to avoid flights in general that have children under 2 as passengers, since they wouldn't be wearing masks either? Or flights where beverages/snacks will be served, since other passengers will demask to eat/drink?

I think the 2 years cutoff is pretty terrible for multiple reasons- from a developmental perspective, it's unreasonable to expect a toddler who may well still be in diapers (!!) to suddenly wear a face covering for hours at a time. And the messaging is such that it's considered unsafe to put them on kids under 2, so its no wonder that a new 2yo is going to struggle. Most childcares understand this- they recognize there will be a transition period and don't expect perfect compliance the day the child turns 2. But then you have posters like this who regard an unmasked 25 mo as a threat to your health and well being.

I get what you are saying. The problem is that the OP wants to lie about her sons age and hide him. She knew what the regulation is before planning the flight and should have reconsidered if she cannot follow through with what the regulation requires right now. I don’t presume you would condone her being dishonest and trying to sneak her kid into not wearing a mask.

DP. You're being weirdly, obsessively moralistic. This thread is completely bonkers. I don't know what is wrong with you people. Is your entire self-worth based on feeling superior to people? It's so depressing.

Yes, having morals is weird and obsessive. Your depression stems from your bad values.

OP, you'll be okay. We've flown a dozen times in the last 2 years and have had minimal issues with the flight attendants being strict about the mask wear for almost four year old. It's so ridiculous that kids these young even have to wear these masks.

Yes, so ridiculous to wear a mask in an enclosed space with many people during a pandemic.

Oh STFU. Kids this young aren't even wearing them properly. All a damn show.

Seriously. It's for other people's comfort, not their safety. The Old Navy mask isn't doing anything, and the kid's size KN-95 doesn't fit.

Aren’t you charming?

You know and I know that you never had good intentions on masking no matter what. Stop wussing with your lame excuses. “Wah! It doesn’t fit, it’s not doing anything!” Drama queen.

Just drive, nobody should mask a child

The cdc just said nobody needs to mask indoors anymore, but people don’t read the news in this area.

It’s not that they don’t read it, it’s that they don’t like it and are going to try to say the CDC is wrong now.

Omg you people have serious problems. There is nothing immoral about a 25 month old who struggles with wearing a mask. Seriously, do you even hear yourself??

Reading comprehension is not your strong suit.
