We had 60,00-100,000 people in US dying from blood clots every year prior to Covid. My grandmother died because of a blood clot. I honestly don't care what other viruses those hundred of thousands of people had at the time of their death (HPV, Aids, flu, herpes, or any other possible virus on the Earth). We should not be joyfully celebrating these deaths and try to use one death out of hundreds of thousands to make our politically motivated point. I am honestly very embarrassed for the people from my party commenting on this thread.

I am tired and angry at you anti vaxxers and mask. I am sick of people like you being cuddled and accommodated. I do not know what happened to this country but in the past people like you were consider a joke and laughed at. I am blame you for prolonging the pandemic with your stupidity.

I am not sure why are you calling me anti vaxxer if I am fully vaccinated with a booster and every family member including children vaccinated as well. But continue with your blame and anger.

Pause and congratulate yourself for making up a story?

Congratulate yourself for being an ignorant idiot

I wonder why she chose J&J, since the incidence of rare but serious blood clots with J&J was already well documented for young women.

I kind of agree with the bold part.

With the wording actually in bold (the amount of hate is appealing) or the intended wording (the amount of hate is appalling)?

It autocorrected, I typed it from my phone.

If she was planning to be vaccinated she waited too long, unfortunately.

You don't know why she was waiting. It could be pregnancy complications, it could be going through infertility treatment, it could be anything.

Of course. But the bottom line is that she waited and died of covid in the interim. Senseless death.

Why would it matter why she waited? Doctors were recommending that pregnant women get vaccinated months ago anyway. She didn’t follow the science, period.

I’m not even sure that’s a real quote from her about choosing to get vaccinated. PP didn’t cite a source. What we do know, per her husband, is that she was not vaccinated.

Well, there are breakthrough cases also. And despite her stance on being anti-Vaxx, we don't know if she was not vaccinated. Most GOP folks are vaccinated and have access to the meds that Trump got - so they may be taking precautions for their health while telling their flock to not get vaccinated. C'mon, these guys have much more to lose if they fall sick, so they won't be so foolish as to not be vaccinated or boosted. They are mostly posturing. Trump to Melania to Ivanka to Kushner to Tiffany...everyone is vaccinated. Its the idiot followers who are not.

It is scary that Kelly died. I am very sure she was vaccinated, despite her opposition to it publically. Probably she got ill because of very high viral load because she went to a rally against vaccines few days earlier.

uh she died of a blood clot wtf

She did not die of COVID. She died because she was misguiding people about the vaccine and Jesus punished her. She died because of God's punitive wrath.

I will accept this alternate cause of death as possible.

So much obfuscating about cause of death. Omicron is causing blood clots - she was sick with Covid and died of a blood clot.

What cognitive dissonance trick are people using to protect themselves from acknowledging this and why?

According to a statement from the OCGOP, Ernby died unexpectedly after what was described as a "brief illness."

So sad. RIP Kelly.

Doesn't matter. In the end, no one is immortal.

True, but it sucks to die at 46 from something that was very likely preventable.

Kelly was opposed to COVID vaccine mandates and to other COVID restrictions (particularly beach closures in SoCal in 2020) throughout the pandemic. She was very vocal about those positions on Facebook and, no doubt, elsewhere. But believe me when I say that she was not a mindless Trump follower. She was smart, accomplished, and passionate. But ultimately misguided, and that has come with tragic consequences.

Kelly and I were poles apart politically and on COVID issues, but she was a good, decent person. Hard-working, committed to seeking justice for victims of crime (she was a Deputy DA in Orange County, CA), and genuinely compassionate. She was also loyal, had a great sense of humor, and was tons of fun to be around.

It's worth remembering that behind the public image of every "political" COVID casualty, there is a real person with family and friends. I am astounded that there are still people who refuse to get vaccinated (and Kelly was not vaccinated according to her husband, Mattias), but I take no pleasure if and when something terrible happens to those people. It's a tragedy every time. This one just happens to hit close to home for me.

RIP, Kelly. Gone much too soon. You'll be missed.

I am very sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing.

Wait. I don't understand. She effectively killed herself and also killed others in the process. It is not a political COVID casualty. It was a greedy political Russian roulette she played to become another Marjorie Green. Sucks for her that she lost her deal with the devil. If she only played with her life, one can forgive her. Making others sick and causing death to others - she is going to hell! Some might think she was dumb, stupid or misguided, but in reality this was a woman without a shred of decency.
