I’m ok with a handful of people getting money they don’t need, if it means thousands of children ,that need money for food, are fed. |
Try millions of families, including billionaires who don't take salaries, undocumented immigrants, the perennially unemployed (both parents able-bodied adults), every couple or single parent making up $400k a year. This was a stupid policy. |
Fed dropping 3 interest rate hikes w/ bigger than expected tapering moves. Hopefully the FED gets it right or there will be a recession .
Jen really needs to stop promulgating the story that this is 'transitory'. That fairy tale story is over. |
Like a EBT card. Only for food. But you could buy lobster with it if you were inclined. I'm not implying the people I knew were breaking out the champagne bottles but no one turned them down and it underscores the point that plenty of stimulus money was wasted on people who didn't need it. |
That is the big problem with the Biden administration. They're just not honest in the face of overwhelming evidence. And when pressed into a corner they make waspish comments about having to miss out on a treadmill (WTF?). No one likes or believes this kind of contemptuous spin. And it's a Marie Antoinette let them eat cake attitude that turns off so many people. We're a long way from Bill Clinton's "I feel your pain" that at least showed an acknowledgement of economic problems. |
Definitely. I voted for Biden and think Psaki is the most skillful Press Secretary I've ever seen - nevertheless his team really comes off as smug and more insulated than even the Obama administration and that's saying something. I watch them and it feels like they live in a platinum (not ivory) tower away from the rest of the country and don't understand the every day ramifications of their polices EVEN IF the policies have good intentions or will be excellent in the long run. No one wants to suffer under 'transitory' inflation for 3 years knowing that in 10 years the polices will pay off. F that. Give me normalcy. |
Supply and Demand
Supply chain issues have impacted costs and wait time and on Jan inventory therefore increasing prices Demand. Biden candy store give away, increase in minimum wage levels, more people starting to get out of the Covid hibernation, and printing of more and more money (cheapening if the dollar) have all enabled increased demand (I.e. increased the supply of the dollar). You get what you get. |
Correcting the auto-correct. “on hand inventory” not “on Jan inventory”. |
When do we get numbers for December 2021? Judging by the consumer prices I'm seeing, who wants to bet its 7.5%? |
I'm seeing a lot of liberals/parents whining about losing their child tax credits and screaming democracy will be OVER in January 2022 because inflation is high.
From the portion of the population which has been screaming about inflation rising since August 2021: ![]() |
According to a UPenn study just released, the average household experienced an increase of $3,500 In daily expenses in 2021. The inflation is real and most people can't afford it.

But that’s not fair. She openly and clearly identified the cause of inflation during the Wednesday presser: - current inflation is caused by the meat conglomerate. Case closed : - ) |
