Yes, Brandon Lee while filming The Crow. Such an incredible performance, he was going to be a huge star. The original cut of the film actually included the moment where he was shot.

For Brandon Lee, what happened was there was a bullet head stuck inside the barrel before it was used. The pressure from the blank actually pushed out the stuck bullet head which hit Brandon at close range.

“bullet head”

Gawd I love hearing DCUM trying to explain things they don’t understand but think they’re still experts about.

What is wrong with their brief description? I'm not a gun owner, so I appreciate their input.

It's a bullet tip, not a bullet head. Don't comment about guns if you know nothing about them.

But the poster meant the same thing -- why are you so invested and angry in terminology? I don't understand why you are so upset.

News is now reporting it was a live round.

How is THAT possible? A mix up with a prop? A stupid gun owner who doesn’t know basic gun safety?

It's coming from the Union. They are saying it was a live round and not a prop gun but a real gun.

I just read she has a son

Here the live round story and an explanation that prop guns can't fire live rounds. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/alec-baldwin-accidentally-fired-live-145304099.html

The email from the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 44, seen by Indie Wire, called the incident an "accidental weapons discharge."

"A live single round was accidentally fired on set by the principal actor, hitting both the Director of Photography, Local 600 member Halyna Hutchins, and Director Joel Souza," the email said. "Local 44 has confirmed that the Props, Set Decoration, Special Effects, and Construction Departments were staffed by New Mexico crew members. There were no Local 44 members on the call sheet."

Is it true that the prop master walked off the set the day before??

Do we know any more that? Sounds highly relevant...

NP here:
Stop with the gun-humper pedantry. I swear, you folks are worse than the Grammar Nazis.

Exactly. No one without an encyclopedic knowledge of guns is allowed to comment on guns, gun control, or the second amendment. Only the gunhumpers can have opinions on guns (and the opinion is always: MORE GUNS FOR MEEEEE and NO RESTRICTIONS). Never mind that bullet heads, oh sorry, BULLET TIPS, kill hundreds of thousands of people every year irregardless of whether they know what's killed them or not.

Where did you see this? I just checked TMZ and they are not reporting that yet.

So the weapons/prop manager was not a union member? Any posters know if there is more than one union for props managers?

TMZ is burying this story. You have to scroll down to even find it. It's not even on the top banner!!!!!

Why would they bury the story? What is in it for them?

What an odd post. Some people don't care about the discussion content; they just want to derail it, I guess.

Someone on the New Mexico crew handed A.B. a non-prop gun with a live round. That is some absolute insanity.

This investigation just went in a whole new direction.

I'm predicting deliberate sabotage by some local gun-nut they hired for the crew who doesn't like Alec Baldwin.
